Can't sink foundations anymore?
I've build numerous rafts and other structures in Ark and I've used the foundation sinking method to help level out bases, etc...

I haven't played in quite a while, and I'm trying to build a raft, but the foundations won't sink. I DO get the lower snap point when I am trying to place, but every time I click to build, the foundation pops back to the level of the nearest foundation.

I am not using any mods, but I have played with some settings to allow clipping into terrain, etc. I've turned them all off and still won't let me.

Any help? I'm sure it's something silly that I'm missing.

Never mind. That way is still not working for me, but I found an updated way that is much more simple and it works just fine. Using a fence foundation lined up with the mast, pillar at the end, and then place your foundation next to it and it's already lowered to the right spot!

"q" will cycle through the different snap points. if you get the green snap on the right side, press "q" once even if it shows the lower snap point. building in ark is...that

somehow it got harder to find the correct spot recently... moving and trying different orientations (of avatar) helped for me - and curiously, but that is older, most often clicking when the foundation is NOT snapping at the lower position, does place it at the lower position (as described by 123) ??!!
(I must try the foundation trick, Thx!)
