Mods in /content & Workshop

I have loaded a lot of mods, they are now in the workshop, around 700 GB. Now I have started the game and it installs all of these mods in: X:\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content
So at the end I have 1.4 TB, so everything is duplicated?

If you have all DLC installed, that number is pretty close.

Base game and all 12 dlc's is going to run you over 300GB.

If you have a total of 700GB or worse that your total is 1.4TB being used (remember every mod you subscribe to downloads even if you dont add it to the active mod list), then -either- way you've a serious mod glut on your hands.

You're likely then using mods that are broken and abandoned, mods that may have conflicts with each other due to being same/similar utility mods from different authors, and more.

So I caution you that you may be a crash/perm corrupted save looking for a place to happen.

Yes and no.

SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content -> contains ALL your subscribed mods for ARK

SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods -> contains active mods for ARK

I have not installed any mods, only downloaded them from the workshop and that is exactly where it happens that Steam closes when I subscribe to the MODs
