Official Can I run it? thread
Hey guys,

Just starting this thread to help see if users can run the game :)

We haven't got full-specs/recommend out yet as it's still early days but hopefully I can shed some light!

Feel free to chip in.

Remember guys, this is just estimated settings. It's truly difficult to tell what exact fps you'll get, and the game is still being optimized so don't worry, we'll improve over time :)! Fiddling with settings is the best option ;)

Am I able to run it?
I have an AMD quad core processor E2-6110 (1.50GHz)
AMD Radeon R2 Graphics
4GB DDR3 L Memory
Thanks
Just got to the office so I could find out my iMac's Specs....

3.5GHz Intel Core i7 (quad)
16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096MB

I'd need to learn how to run bootcamp, or use something like parallels - But what kind of fps/graphics would I get with these Specs...?
MSI GTX 970
i5-3570 3.40GHz
16gb RAM
1440x900
Win 8.1
25-40fps all maxed out on epic settings

sorry no :/

I'm running it on:
Athlon 4800+, 2.5GHz dual core (65nm process, i.e. hella old)
4GB of 313MHz memory ("DDR2" my donkey)
R7 260X
MX100 (250GB) ssd, Win 7 64.
And I'm curious as to what the expected performance might be as compared to the actual performance.

Before someone makes a jab about some of my hardware, I'd like to mention that every part (individually) was free, and I can't afford a non-potato CPU/board.
hmm maaybe your r7 260x will save you so give it a try maybe on low with tweaking the game can be playable i am sorry :(

I've the same conf (except 8Go RAM here, Win 7 updated via Bootcamp) and the game works perfectly in 1280x720 all epic without fanciful options (blur & co), but I launch ARK from Steam without sky effects... ;)

To run bootcamp, you just need to have a correct Win iso file and a serial or other, the following is really easy, clic on the BootCamp icon in Utilities... :)

If the devs can help the low details guys, it could be nice : they don't see the cave entrances... :(

Have a good game everyone... =)

can you me post a pic from your settings?

I've heard I have a bad graphics card, but I'm hoping for a second opinion from you guys that says I can still play it with at least average graphics and an average FPS. Here's my PC's specs:
-Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz 2.39GHz
-RAM: 16.0 GB (15.9 usable)
-System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
-Windows Edition: 8.1
-GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

Thanks for any help!!!!

Definitely not. Intel IG cannot run anything but a browser game

Not enough Ram, CPU speed, or Graphics. Maybe on the lowest settings, but then why even play? There are many affordable Laptops, look for at least an Nvidia 860 or 960 gpu with minimum core i5, but i7 is best

Setting LOW for 30 fps O.o

Is this rly true?

the 970 is the card that is considered crap, its the one Nvidia had to apoligize for. it has two different memory speeds and it makes it slower than the 965. you will be able to run it but stick to medium settings

Intel i5-4670 3.4 GHz
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3-1600 (CAS 8)
EVGA GTX 970 4GB (stock 1216 MHz clock)
34" LG 34UM65 Ultrawide Display (2560 x 1080)
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Getting low framerate, looking for a sweet spot in the settings. (For reference: I get 60+ FPS in Tomb Raider 2013, FarCry3, Crysis2, Skyrim HD mods, et cetera, all settings maxed.)

Advice?
it is the innate problem with the Nvidia 970 card. Look up how Nvidia screwed everyone, and I am pretty sure you get money back if you complain. you should be able to run on medium. i have the 970M 6Gb on my laptop and i run at 1920x1080 on medium, no aa. and i get smooth constant framerates
Origineel geplaatst door Orsted:
I'm having some framerate issues and think the game isn't fully optimized for mobile platforms yet.

i7-4720HQ
GTX 980M 4GB vRAM
32GB RAM @ 1600MHz
2x512GB M.2 SSD
1x1TB SSD
1x1TB HDD

Settings:

1280x720 (Unable to run at 1080P or greater without suffering framerate drops below 30)
Medium Custom settings (disabled Sky/Ground render due to the aforementioned FPS issues)

What I've done so far:

Set GPU to "Preferred Maximum Performance". Disabled extra effects such as Ambient Occlusion, Motion Blurr, ect. Set game to run on Nvidia card only and not integrated (this was defaulted to integrated before I started).

EDIT: I get between 30-48 FPS with most of the details off.
Something is wrong then. I have the i7-4710 with the GTX 970M 6GB with 16gb RAM, and i run on Medium at 1080P with the only effect off being AA. you should easily be running faster than me. make sure before you run it you go and right click your desktop and enable your GPU, since ARK is not optimized for graphics card drivers. your computer will run on the onboard graphics automatically
