Leveling a Parasaur
So I've got a tamed parasaur that I'd love to use as a distance traveler, so I'd like to increase its move speed. Unfortunately I have absolutely no clue how to level it up. With things like Trikes and Raptors it's easy to level up. you just gather berries, or kill things. But parasaurs don't seem to have any way of leveling, since they can't get XP from harvesting berries, and they deal next to no damage when attacking things. It passively gaint 0.1XP/10 secs, and it gets 0.1XP When I make it attack the air in front of it. It doesn't seem to get any shared XP from my actions. How do you guys level up your parasaurs?

My level 12 Parasaur in single can take down raptors and scorpions and not take too much damage. The key is it's long range bite. Raise health and damage for a few levels before focusing on movement speed.

Ride them and kill wild dinos with them, gives tons of pet XP.

Put in general para sucks badly. Even with 500% meelee damage he us taken out fast by a random turtle.

It's strange that they expect you to kill things to level up a dinosaur with such limited melee abilities. My Parasaur is still level 3, so I guess I'll have to grind dodos with it for a while or something.

Oh right, they also appear to level when being ridden and while near you while you craft.

Ah, crafting! I didn't try that. Thanks for the tip!

Or stun a dino, mount your para, kill the stunned dino with the para.

That's a neat trick. Especially with more than one person playing. Thanks for the advice guys, you're awesome <3

My raptor usually has a level or two when I log on, they seem to just level with time. Just keep him alive, he will do the rest.

We leave the Para in base and raise its stamina and move speed when it gains a level but ours is mainly for utility picking up lost tribe mates delivering or picking up materials not the most combat capable

We want to use ours to go grab distant supply drops, because they have such good stamina bars and can sprint for years at a time. Not to mention they can cross rivers/small lakes relatively easily.
