Lost my Pteranodon??????? Hight limit and follow bug?

So I tamed this Pteranodon long time ago, and I finally got the saddle today, so I decided to try it out. I flew up to high limit (really really high up). I jumped off, popped my parachute. I had it to follow so it shouldve followed me down but it didnt? And now i cant seem to find it :( Ive been running around on my raptor spamming J (for whistle) but no luck :( is this a bug or is it just slowly coming back down?

I also lost my pteranodon while farming metal on a mountain. I were attacked by a Argentavis and my Pteranodon flew circles like stung by a bee. The only way to calm him is normally to let him not follow me so he lands and sit down. But he fought against the Argentavis and flew up to mountain untill I lost sight. I haven't got any "Your ... was killed by ..." message. After that I flew with my second Pteranodon around the mountin from bottom to top and whistled "Follow All" like hell but nothing.

Now I don't know if he is still alive. Does someone know how far the messages "Your ... was killed by ..." or "Your ... died" reach?

On single play while flying my mount around the island I awlays see pteranodons in the distance fall out of the sky like stones. I suspect it's because they are being reloaded into memory as I move into range of the last time I was in the area and this is a bug that hasn't been attended to. So I suspect that once something is out of range it is probably suspended. This wouldn't happen that often on multiplay since there'd be players around in enough places to keep most of the NPCs active. But in single play it could be good news for your mount? Also I've found you have to be pretty close to whistle to it, so it's probably sitting somewhere (waiting to be attacked?)

Today I found my lost Pteranodon!!

I just flew over the mountain I lost him because its the way from my first to my second base and suddenly a Pteranodon with the same color has been dropped from the sky to the ground like a stone but with spread wings.

So I thought give it a try and look because hope dies last and there it was my Pteranodon. With full health and all inventory except of the amount of raw meat which turned into spoiled meat.

I whistled "All fallow me" and he followed me. I have my Pteranodon back :)

If you have lost your Pteranodon because its too high to reach it, restart your server. If you cannot restart it yourself, wait for the next maintenance/update. The Pteranodon will be waiting on ground, at the same place.

Petradons seem to have the issue of flying away and vanishing the second you get into combat and just never being able to be found again.. I know I just had one vanish into the sky kept going up as I was fighting some bugs.. and those are the demons that make them run the worst it seems.. most other things they will land a little bit away but the bugs come and they book it the hell out of there and never come back.. They should honestly have a return home function on them like homing pigeons so after a bit they will fly back home if you cant find them.

If you can spyglass a flying mount and see its label, you can T whistle and it will come down. If they're too high to see from the ground, yeah, you need another flyer to get to it.

I nearly lost an Argentavis I had following my Pteranodon on an obsidian run. I sprinted partway from one mountaintop to another, and when I landed, no Argent. So I had to retrace my ste- uhh, flaps? and spam J to find him again.

I have lost like 3 or 4 Pteranodon's because i jump off to loot a drop and it gets attacked (Almost always by the little flying things) so it flys away and even when i spam j i still cant find it. I also just lost one because it flew really high. I am still hoping 1 day all the Pteranodons show up at my base but i dont think that will happen

mine got stuck at world hight limit, i built almost 100 ladders.......then i was too high to build any more, had to cheat him down

Why not just tame another tera and fly up to get him.

When u wanna land, u are forced to get off, and the Ptera wanders off like 10 meters before it stop, making it impossible to build "Bird houses" to park these guys in, they will just walk off.

Approach the ground, press SPACEBAR and birdie lands neatly with you on its back. Then you can walk it to where you want and get off.

If you don't want to get off for some reason, such as having a rest break to let your birdie recover Stamina, press SPACEBAR to launch into flight again.

if you can see it use a spy glass and hit T it shoud come to you.

I've had an incident with my Ptera today , I flew back to my base landed in my compound then logged out , an hour later when I logged back in it was gone , it was set to disable follow and disable roaming .
This isn't the first time this has happened 2 of my other animals have just vanished into thin air too , its starting to become a little annoying now !
