Performance on GTX 660 vs GTX 970, and playing on either
When I bought the game, I had significant FPS drops to 0 for extended periods of time with an avg FPS of about 15. The game play was terrible and frustrating on the following equipment entirely because FPS spikes would destroy my ability to fight or travel:

running EVERYTHING on "LOW":

I5-3570k @3.8GHz
GTX 660
4x 2GB ram at 1600MHz
All SSDs drives

My friend is going out of town today for the summer, and he's thinking about getting a 980 Ti, so I bought one of his MSI GTX 970s he had been using in SLI.

The performance difference is night and day.

I now have very very few lag spikes, and run just over 30 fps most of the time with a medium setting. The game is now much more attractive at this setting, and quite fun!

I hope this helps you in some way, I've been wondering if my video card was the main limitation to FPS spiking, which was elimintating my ability to play.

Not suprised about that, 970 is 3x better than 660 :D
tinman44 8 JUN 2015 a las 7:44 a. m.
well, at least 2x, but I was only a little surprised. I'm just satisfied with a direct comparison on exactly the same system of the two cards, I wasnt able to find anyone else who had ran the game on two cards with the same settings and hardware otherwise.

jeremylinaf can you do me a favor ?

Can you run the game , open console and type "stat unit"

This will show something like this : https://answers.unrealengine.com/storage/temp/37292-stat_unit.jpg

Check if the lagging thread is still the GPU . ( the thread with more ms that is pushing the frame ms up )

I just want to know if that 970 is powering trough it , or if even with a GTX 970 , the bottleneck is still the gpu .

I'm not sure , since I haven't tested it myself , but I think at this point the game doesn't support SLI.

That will come in later updates. Sadly for now , it will only use one of your 970s :(

Yeah I have tried SLI and I get worse performance than 1 970. But even with 1 970 I can only manage to run the game on Low settings at 24 fps. :/

I get the same FPS with a slightly overclocked GTX 780 playing on mostly high settings 1080p

Thanks :)

Kinda wondering if the 970s and 980s overcome the gpu bottleneck , or if with those beast cards you "break" though the GPU being the Weakpoint.

wow .. so seems even with a 970 , it still is "gpu capped".

Thanks for the info mate :)

I'm currently playing the game in "potato mode" sm4 + dynamiclightning=1 , it looks messed up but it's the only way to make it playable on my rig.

Lets hope optimization comes fast :)
Thank you again for taking the time to give me that info :)

I have a GTX 750 and the game runs perfectly fine on a mixture of High/Epic settings in graphics.

My system:
Intel Core i5-2400 @ 3.1GHz
16.0 GB RAM
Windows 8.1 x64
nVidia GeForce GTX 750 (and a GTX 650, but not SLI)
Running game at 1650x1080
