Ladders?

Got myself a vertical ladder, installed it to connect two floors of my house with enough space below and above.

Can`t figure out how to use it. I`m moving through it, jumpint through it and E has only a 'demolish' option in the menu.

So, are they broken or am i doing smth wrong?

You don't use ladders in this game like in other games where you can just run up to it and expect to be able to climb it.

You "click" -E-, to enable it, you don't hold -E- in.

Just run up to it, click on -E- and just climb it. Works just fine for me and those i play with.

just note..you won't get a prompt for it...so like Geek said....just walk up to it..and press E.

Hey, that`s not working for me. Hitting E does nothing.

Here my ladder - may be smth with the wooden ceiling is wrong?

yeah perhaps..I think the ladder is intended to be used with the hatch...so in the middle of a section....with this..it might think you're trying to climb up to ceiling and blocking you...worth a bug report I think.

The ladder can be used on platforms or on straight walls. The problem with placing ladders on walls is that they only go one floor up, and you can't connect a second ladder above the first one if you've got more than one floor. The system isn't really stable yet, but i'm sure they'll work on it.

The ladder can be used in a hatch yes. We have that on our tribe's main building and it works just fine. Put a hatch on each floor and you won't have any issues with it again.

This is actually not true, I just built a wall of ladders against walls of about 20 ladders high to get on top of a rock.

Ladders work from 1 side only I think? So maybe in the picture the game thinks the good side is on the other side? Or did you try climb both ways?

if you can;t use the ladder. you place it the wrong way. your not facing the right side of the ladder. try replacing it another way
