I am not sure why they went with the tiny JP version of the Dilos since they are annoying, and they could have picked something better for a small early game enemy[heck, even Velociraptor], but it's definitely not out of ignorance.
It might be because Utahraptor fills the same niche as an actual Dilo would since they were about the same size and without venom spit it has no real unique features.
That's just your personal opinion. I think an accurate dilophosaurus looks just fine. I was hoping this game would go for a more accurate depiction of the various creatures in the game.
And I'm glad. Before the dossier was up, knew the JP thing was fake, but I still wanted to ride the frilly, acid-spitter. Two days after I said that, they went and did it. Turn out you can't ride them, but I'm happy non the less. These guys know what's up.
