JP dilophosaurus? Really?
I've just bought and played this game for the first time, and while I think it's great so far there's one thing which really bothers me: that the developers chose for the Jurassic Park version of the dilophosaurus.

It has been common knowledge for nearly two decades that there's no evidence whatsoever that the dilo could spit acid or had a frill. Those were just made up by Spielberg to make the movie more interesting. Real dilos were also a lot bigger than their JP counterparts.

The devs seems to know their stuff when it comes to the other creatures in the game, so I don't think this was done out of ignorance. But then why was the choice made for these horribly inaccurate dilophosaurs?

The only game that has an accurate depiction of the dilophosaur right now is Dino D-day. And that game has nazi dinosaurs for crying out loud.

Dear developers, as one dinosaur fan to another, I ask you to please reconsider this choice and give the dilophosaurus the proper respect it deserves by updating its look.

The reason is literally because the JP Dilo looks cooler :p

All the dinos in the game are made up species belonging to known genera. The journal pages make note of this.
I am not sure why they went with the tiny JP version of the Dilos since they are annoying, and they could have picked something better for a small early game enemy[heck, even Velociraptor], but it's definitely not out of ignorance.

It might be because Utahraptor fills the same niche as an actual Dilo would since they were about the same size and without venom spit it has no real unique features.

That's just your personal opinion. I think an accurate dilophosaurus looks just fine. I was hoping this game would go for a more accurate depiction of the various creatures in the game.

No... This question has been asked before and The Right Hand said it was literally because they are cooler.

I would point out that pretty much every 'creature' in the game is an 'engineered to vision' critter rather than an actual representation of the species. You're not in actual prehistoric era, but a specimen in a JP-style sandbox.

They know, but the game isn't trying to accurately represent prehistoria. They are taking creative liberties to add more variety and make the game more interesting/fun.

And I'm glad. Before the dossier was up, knew the JP thing was fake, but I still wanted to ride the frilly, acid-spitter. Two days after I said that, they went and did it. Turn out you can't ride them, but I'm happy non the less. These guys know what's up.
