Transfer from Local to Unofficial server
Hi all,

Is it possible to transfer my local character and dinos to an unofficial server.
I would like to host a game for me and my friend and use my character from my local game.

As far as I know you can. Go to an Obilisk and click on the podium at its base. At the top of the menue is a button that says "Transfer Survivor" (I think). Click that and you're good to go.

ok, but those this already work?
I thought it was bugged and wipe your character.
Has anyone tried it already and with succes?

It dumps your inventory and takes your character off the Local Ark. So you lose your stuff, keep your knowledge and get to play somewhere else.

To the best of my knowledge this is working as intended.

this works only the other way around. you can only transfer a multiplayer char into singleplayer.

(Note that you can also upload all of your items too, just not "on" your character directly)

As for whether it works, last we tested, it did. It used to not, but we fixed it several patches ago I think in 171.2 :)

Note that u can only use this functionality on Unofficial Servers --- we're too afraid of hackers on the ARK Official Server Network ;)

Actually, you can use this for SP <-> Unofficial :)

but only if you are admin? because in sp you could easily use admin commands to cheat and transfer to unofficial server?!

So I could transfer my gear with me loaded on my mount? could I make gear on SP, transfer over to an Unoffiial, trade, then bounce back?

If not directly how can you transfer them? put them in dino's?

You can transfer from local and any Offical&inofficial Server to inofficial Servers that allow character downloads. At least as far as i know.
I can invite you to my own Server, it is called [GER] EvolutionGaming [PvP] and we currently have Downloads enabled.
We are a german commnity but everybody is welcome and most players speak a decent english.

Not really an answer to my question tho :p im playing on a dutch server atm, if i switch i will think about your server ;)

Well that's an exact answer to your question right there :P I just provided the answer followed by a little bit of personal advertisment ^^ i also thought getting a specific server with downloads enabled recommended wouldn't hurt :D

I know how and that you can transfer your guy and dino's but the question is how do i transfer items, Drake said you can but didnt say how
