How do you cook meat?

I keep putting raw meat on the camp fire it stays raw then spoils? how do you cook in this game?

Put wood/thatch on the fire and light it. Can't cook meat without a flame.

Hold "e" to open the campfire inventory, add some wood, add the raw meat. Then light the fire and wait a minute for the meat to cook then you can put it back into your inventory and eat it.

Blaze's method is correct.

The cooking does not happen immediately. It takes a while.
And sometimes, the decay timer can expire before the cooking, so the meat may spoil before it is cooked.

And there are some instances when I get certain pieces of meat that just refused to be cooked. probably (server) bug. That was some updates ago though, and I have not noticed it since. Could be fixed or could just be random.
