ARK: Survival Evolved

Statistiche:
All Major AND Underwater Cave Locations Found! (Spoilers for Explorers)
I just posted this on Reddit, but for people who dont read that, here are the location of the 6 confirmed Major Caves and 12 underwater caves in Ark! (Thank you to reddit user PitschiPitschiPopo for pointing out the final cave!) The images below show you their location and entrances. (For the explorers out there, DO NOT look at the images. These are for the people who want to enjoy the caves)

(I have been updating the steam guide below with a significantly larger amount of information on the caves, more so than this post contains! If you want to know about the enemies, loot, conditions and artifacts of the caves as well, please check the guide!)

SURFACE CAVES:

Northwest Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieIm1/0cdd0a2e71.jpg (Found at the bottom of a cliff ledge with Megalodon filled water below. Some jumping will be required! The cave is VERY cramped, large teams will have trouble with this cave. Also contains some very dangerous jumps)

North Central Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieIRn/220b9b40c1.jpg

North East Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieIWp/55dac69474.jpg (On the most deadly island possible. If you want to die, come here! Cave is for high levels it seems. One loot chest was level 50+ to open.)

South Central (1) Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieIJL/17bdbe9d3f.jpg (Found in a ravine on the right when coming from the river. Cave is extremely cold so bring warmth! AMAZING PLACE TO LEVEL! 30 - 35 in 1 run with 2 players.)

South Central (2) Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieKsw/d8d33d64b3.jpg (Thanks to reddit user PitschiPitschiPopo)

South East Entrance - http://puu.sh/ieJ1E/750ff768c1.jpg (Contains Bats and Lava. Seems like the Lava increases your temperature so bring extra water! Also contains some jumping! The lava ate so many of my things)

UNDERWATER CAVES:

Underwater caves can be found by looking for rising air bubbles. These air bubbles are right next to the entrances to the caves. The caves themselves contain oil and pearls (A lot of them) but can be tricky to reach!

People with a Megalodon should be able to reach them with 100 max oxygen. For those without a Megalodon, find a Lazarus Chowder recipe and cook those. They reduce the rate of oxygen loss and will allow players with 100 max oxygen to go vertically from the surface to a cave and still have around 40% left! Those without both will need more max oxygen.

I wont post an image of each and every entrance, as the caves themselves seem to be build from a few prefabs. The entrances can look quite similar as a result.

Nice, if you want you should make a steam guide. i moved to the north east island, that already a suicide since only the strongest predators live there, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that cave is deadly. i counted 30 bats at least on my screen.

Any chance there is an underwater cave nearby that island? seems like those gonna be the reliable source of oil. wonder if i can build inside those.
Dang amazing find on the bubbles! Rough stuff to reach oil for gas to power the fabricator.

You are in luck, 1 underwater cave directly north east of the surface cave entrance! Take a dip down every few hours, gather some oil and pearls and get back to "monster island" (as the devs call it). The cave is to the top right on the map at 06.3 / 89.7. As for building in there though, a lot of the underwater caves can tend to be small. You can certainly build some supply boxes and what not though!

Awesome, ta!
Ocean Caves dont load from the outside i see a shadow on the ocean floor but the ocean caves exterior doesnt render for me unless im touching the top of the ocean cave so its near impossible to enter it since i cant see what im entering around the bubbles

Although I responded to this on the guide as well, I'll say it here for the people in the post too. It does seem to be a massive rendering issue on caves which causes them to pop in and out. It seems in some cases, the caves are just permanently invisible for people.

This issue was said to be fixed in one of the patch notes ("- Fixed invisible ocean caverns") but it seems not. It can certainly cause a headache!
grats playing single player mode and using console. what a joke

Rude much? He simply wanted to create a complete map of current cave locations for those who want such a map. Why is it a problem if he decided to do it?

Its not like he said "Oh look at me I uncovered the entire map, Im so good and I am the best player there is!!!" He simply created something that doesn't exist currently for the players that want a detailed map.

Eat a d*ck noob.
I don't understand the picture of the northwest cave entrace. where is the actual entrace? is that green like the path? could you possibly use a freehand line to show the actual path instead of its general location? i've been staring at that wall for hours and dont understand where i'm supposed to jump or where the cave entrance is
The entrance to the cave is down a rocky ledge following that path. You'll find the start of the path at the top of the line. The ledge is pretty much straight like that but from a 3d perspective, its quite narrow.

If you are looking at that ledge like in the image, go to that side and go to the very right near to where the green line starts. Youll find the path start between a narrow opening between 2 rocks.

For clarification, I went and got this image: http://puu.sh/ihOyI/a850ee76f1.jpg

I was stood over the other side when I took the first image. Im stood at the start of the path down at this point.

I found the "Monster Island" cave and the one to the northwest but they were both empty, is it just because i played local or is there another reason?

Not entirely sure why this is happening to be honest. Have you tried exiting the game while outside the cave. Maybe reloading and refreshing the game may help.

I've walled up the entrance to a cave and claimed it as my own.

Me and my Tribe are planning to wall off the south east cave. Seems like a really nice place to build a big base as well. Building inside though, I'd have to pass xD I'm terrified of spiders and giant snakes enough as is. I don't want to hear a knock on my door just to find a giant spider

Messaggio originale di Slashcroft:
I found a lvl 40 loot box in South East cave. Do we know if these are randomly leveled or consistant?

I think they follow a set level of sorts. I did find a Sabertooth saddle in that cave though so it would certainly follow the higher level idea. The first southern cave always contains cloth gear in their containers, so it seems to be the low level cave.
Walling off caves with loot is not a very friendly thing to do as you lock out all other players which is very unsocial as behaviour if you want come along with other people on your server but i know people do selfish things but head my words some will start a war for this caves you can be sure of it! as Soon loot is involved people get Greedy! Anyhow a good find kudos!

picture of what above is talking about http://gyazo.com/e337745588f8bd5464cec18c2bfdeb37

this makes it almost impossible to find underwater caves especially, i walk looking for this cave for like 3 hours and it was right in front of me the whole time.

I've looked up and down both sides of that Ravine in SOuth Central for a cave and there is NOTHING there. There isn't even a cave pictured in the included screenshot. STOP MAKING STUFF UP OP!

No but seriously why isn't there a cave there for me? Did the Devs remove all caves as of update 17.6? I've looked in 3 different locations for surface caves according to this map and can't find any of them.
