How Can you tame the huge bird and Ptera?

I have never managed to down a Ptera before it flies off and out of reach, so how do i down it?
and what is the fastest way to tame them?


P.S how do you tame the Megaladon?

You can tame the giant vulture and the Pteranadon.

Taming Megalodons is extremely difficult. I'm nto even sure f anyone has done it yet.

How can you down the Ptera unconscious?

Shoot them with Tranq arrows or hitting it with a scorpion.

Use narcotics with arrows to create a tranq arrow (it's a recipe). You can take one down with about 3 arrows depending on how much time you wait. The drugs take a little bit to kick in. Then put raw meat in it's inventory and narcotics. Use the "REMOTE USE ITEM" in the Ptera's inventory to force feed it the narcotics to keep it unconscious. I used maybe 35 raw meats and maybe 40 narcotics.

It's best to wait for them to land before shooting them, so as to not waste tranq arrows.

How on earth would you hit the ptera 3 times with arrows before it's long gone? Just out of curiosity.

You have to follow them. I put lots of points into my stamina and speed.

Edit: They'll land or get low enough to the ground, eventually. I was chasing after mine for a solid 20 minutes. The Pteras have to land once they run out of stamina, which can take a little time.

You can tame a Megalodon and it's not so difficult. I did it 2 times on my own. Here are two pictures:

1-2 tranq arrows. Tranq arrows are not instant, it takes a while for the narcotics to kick in, so shoot em twice and chase them. They fall to the ground eventually
