You sure can.

Its just really hard to actually knock out a dodo because of their low hp, I had to use a tranq arrow on a lvl 14 one, just so it didnt die.

Just hit them with your fists or slingshot. They get K.O.'d all the time.

You can have a whole flock of dodo's if you'd like.

With your fists, yes, it can be hard. With a slingshot it's easier. Stone to it's head.

You tame them with the yellow berries, while keeping it unconscious with Narcoberries. I forgot what they're called. They're yellow. But about 30 of each should do it.

Punching dodo's that are level one or just lower than you are can often result in a kill if you've upgraded your melee attack.

One very useful tip I found was to starve them for a while before feeding them. The narcoberries don't act as food so just keep them unconcious until the food guage is getting good and low before feeding them. A hungry beast tames much faster.

Plus side to having a flock of dodo's in tow is both a source of eggs and also some fresh meat in a pinch for taming the carnivores.

i have one tamed and every now and then i get dodo egg to eat. its sort of weird considering its supposed to be male 0.o

Noticed that as well, I have a mated pair and it's the male that seems to lay the most eggs!

I guess the ins and outs of animal husbandry just arent fully fleshed out yet.
