Death Island Cave - Artifact of the Devourer

Located in the far northeast of the map is an island only reachable by mount in the ocean (assuming you drown or fatigue from swim). Admin console stats the island as "Death Island". On the far side of the island facing toward the open sea is a cave opening.

Upon entering you have to swim underwater through a tight passage (nice touch from the developers) and up to a rock wall that leads into the most amazing cave Ive yet to find in game. to safely reach the bottom you could jump and parachute I'm assuming but there is a path leading down with some skeeeeeetchy jumps in there as seen in the pictures.. This is the resting place for the "Artifact of the Devourer" one piece needed to summons world bosses at each obelisk.

For those thinking of heading to the Island pre-warning its got nothing but trex / golden eagles (like 40 eagles) by the dozen with scorpion / raptors sprinkled in for seasoning. The cave itself was empty but the island was chaotic even when trying to take screenshots.

All that said this cave is a must see as the devs put alooooooot of tender loving care into its creation.

There are no eagles in the game as of yet. What you saw is Argentavis and they're vultures.

I wonder (if you brought all the resources) if that cave would make an awesome base. I mean you have all those predators as a natural barricade and if you can kill the vultures and raptors then you have the meat to tame a Rex or two for protection.

I didn't think of that! Base location eh? You could almost through up some wood platforms over the underwater entrance and no one would be the wiser thinking the cave stop there. Only downside is it holds the artifact so people will need to get into it. Hope folks cant build homes to block progression.

People will just destroy your work to get to what they need to get to. I wouldn't put your base somewhere that's going to definitely attract traffic when the word gets out.

You seem to know much about the game so why that character build? I mean 200 in food 190 in water i understand why the run speed. The last screen shot shows your stats.

If you can get to building metal bases quicker than anyone else then it would be easier to defend. Plus you could have tons of automated turrets outside. Its just a theory I don't know if it would actually work.

Ignore the build. Its for single player local play only since you can use admin rights to access god mod and flying. Move speed increases the speed of floating and the only thing that can kill you through god mod is starving / dehydration and drowning. Thus the three stats.

Benefit to the base would be it cant be seen by air and most folks move inwards or toward obelisks for tougher game which this is on the outer edge beyond even the north starting beach.

type infinitestats in console so you dont starve/dehydrate/drown when testing in SP.

We own this cave on our server, and while I think its a great looking cave, its really lame for resources.
