Any place to complain about Unofficial Servers?

I have been playing on a certain server for a couple days. Out of nowhere the admins come in and start building things, teasing what we can't have. They leave and 20 mins later one comes back to harass the whole area with a bird nobody can kill. Don't these kind of people need to have their servers blacklisted somehow?

It's best to just walk away and never return, or to find an Obelisk and transfer your character away if you can.

We don't currently have the time or manpower (or really inclination) to police non-official servers, but we will not prevent the community from generating a blacklist and maintaining it.

It def sucked. We had a great thing going and it all got ruined by a couple of people.

yah it was all going good till hte admin started abusing his powers btw the server was called 24/7 officalserver

Server admins got so bad for us in other games that we started hosting our own public server. Admin abuse is about right on par with hacking in my books. I hope you get that server down somehow or at least get people to avoid it.

When playing on a community server, it is important to do some background research. I often look at their website, look at the professionalism in their forum posts, and even go for a chat on teamspeak. How people in a 'superior' position behave to a new person on the internet can be a great judge of character if you want to know if a community is worthwhile or not.

This may seem like a lot of work but in the end, it's your life that you're spending. I'm pretty sure that in a game like this you'll sink a LOT of hours in it!

This is written as a person who hosted a server community for over year and a half on Arma 2 dayz. It was the same there as it is (will be) here!

thats the problem with public servers the admins can use cheat mode so can level fast tame fast and so on and god mode, like ruub states do some research and find ones that are from people that been having their own servers for years

No such luck, I was booted from the server after failed attempts at communication. 24/7 OfficialServer should be avoided at all costs. Unless you enjoy admins destroying your camps and invading at will with their god mode birds, then have fun.

Having a blacklisted server list is always a good idea in games like this.

whereever u go dont go SARKO servvers they r terrible.. admins cheat all the way while trying to attract people. seemed a good server till got attacked by an industructable skiff.. my skiff never shot back... and kept going till even then they couldnt win and they just banned us lol.. NEVER JOIN SARKO

Nope. It's their money paying for their server and they own it and can run it the way they want to. You're just a freeloading visitor and have no rights whatsoever. None. Zip. Zero. You got unlucky, so just look for a better one. You're only two days into playing on it anyway, so it's not like you're losing anything.

And to think... i had a public server without this kind of crap for the better part of two years, we decided as a group to shut it down due to a complete lack of activity... :| Noone but myself had admin access
