it eats Raw Meat, and i used Narcotics to sedate it.
Hope this helps :)
And it took about 1 daytime's time.
1. Knock it out. Keep it knocked out.
First off, knock it out at range, you don't want to be close enough to be stung! Using tranq arrows is best, otherwise use slingshot.
Once knocked out, fill up with Narcoberries or Narcotics, whatever you prefer. I found my trike was brilliant for quickly collecting 100x stacks of Narcoberries. The most important thing here is to keep it unconcious. If you've got some spoiled meat somewhere, use it.
2. It's taming time!
Now for taming it. It only eats spoiled meat. The best way of obtaining Spoiled Meat, especially if you haven't got any, is to find a quick source of Raw Meat. Packs of Dodo's, Fish (Coelacanth), or even a large Dino if you can.
Here's the trick! Do NOT stack the Raw Meat. Keep it all seperate, individual pieces of Spoiled Meat spoil faster. Use Ctrl + Drag to split a stack by one. This will mean that ALL the Raw Meat in your Inventory will spoil all at once, not one at a time when it's stacked up.
It took me about 25 pieces of Spoiled Meat for a Level 7 Scorpion.
3. It's feeding time!
Now for feeding it. After you successfully tame the scorpion(s), it will eat both Raw and Spoiled Meat, but will prefer Spoiled Meat.
If you use your Scorpion(s) to kill prey, exercise caution!
Scorpions will 'eat' the dead wildlife they kill/find if given the chance. You can use this to your advantage, as they keep the items obtained by 'eating' in their inventory, like your character does when harvesting meat/hide etc.
Hope this helps, and clears up some confusion!
They prefer spoiled meat. I put 65 in, and I didn't keep track but I doubt it ate much more than 20 or 25.
If you use narcotics to keep the torpidity up, it won't decrease the taming effectiveness like using a narcoberry will (the scorpion is not a herbivore).
It didn't take very long to tame. One in-game night cycle.
It's a great pet stat wise, I was really impressed!
After I learned that meat trick I always store mine on the dihlos or whatver is with me it works wonders as even the rotten they got lasts a while especialy nice when I want to make more narco and need to get berries to go with it. In fact its easier for me to pile up spoiled meat and store it then to find narco berries now. Need to learn how to use the tribes berrie gathering mount or keep testing out farming the berries.
