How do you farm metal?

Hey guys anyone know the best way to get metal ?

I'm told there's a better pickaxe at 25 that helps in getting metal from normal rocks

luck till you get a metal pickaxe. drop rate is supposed to be higher in a cave or near mountains, but it can be found almost anywhere.

Did you ever start a solo/local game? The dev's made it a 1000 carry for solo play.

Head down to the coast and mine there. Metal is way more common by the ocean, at least for us anyway. We farmed around 1k last night in a little over an hour with 3 of us at it running up the beach.

If your looking for metal, i assume that you have some levels and some tamed dino.
So grab a fast traveling dino, and go to a mountain.
Mountains have a lot of rock that contain metals.
Actually, getting metal with stone pickaxe is hard (the next "big" patch plan to raise it by x5 if i rememver).

Metal stone are darker than flint stone.

You can find metal in caves atm, but i recommend mountains, caves have a lot of dangerous dino and lava tends to drop FPS badly.
