I kinda feel like it's a bug. My guy will overheat walking around, but be freezing in the water lol. So no matter what you can't please him, yet I can still function just fine and survive, but I'm sure my food and water levels drop more and affect the overall health of the character requiring more upkeep.

Insulation and fortitude. I don't get hot or cold as much now with proper clothes and some fortitude.

all the characters are women in their 50s, we're getting hot flashes.

This seems to be buggy to me, as you guys noticed as well. I sometimes get overheated at night in the forest, which doesn't make any sense.

During daytime I was getting overheated in the forest (shadows) and as soon as I walked out of it into the plain sun on the beach I cooled down to the less drastic heat indicator.

Yes it is bugged. I was over heated in the ocean water.

Sorry to up such a long forgotten post, but I face the exact same issue, I tried everything, going underwater (temperature between 8/15°C depending of the time of the day), but even when they tell me "You're cold" and I get out of the water, boom insta overheating.

Tried sitting in shades doing nothing, removing all my armor, and it does absolutly nothing, I mean the temperature stays at 39-41°C.

I'm at a point where, at night, I only flash my torch for a few secs to see where I'm going and checking the perimeters for foes, because if I keep it for a few secs my temperature goes sky high :X.

I'm wearing the Hide set (which seems to be less efficient than the first armor set against insolation but still...).

Can anyone help me out please ?

P.S: As I just reached lvl 25 I just unlocked the Fur set, but should I even bother to get all the skills + craft ? The damn thing looks even warmer than the Hide set :/

First thing you need to do, create a new discussion and don't necro an old one.

After that, I'll answer your problem

cloth armor keeps you cool all the other armor keeps you warm put points in fortitude increase your resistance to weather and torpor increasing effects

I definitely feel there are so issues with temperatures in the game. But if just going into the water does not work, put on cloth clothing (it actually helps your Hyper Insulation) and then try going into the water. Be wary of piranhas.
