How to reset Single Player/Local game <SOLVED>

Hey guys does anyone know how to reset the single player game?

For me I just had to die and chose to make a new survivor.

You need to delete the Local map file.

Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal
In here you will find 3 files. Delete TheIsland.ark to reset the map. You get to keep your character.

Oh thx. The reason why i ask is because when you die you lose that special saddle and i haven't found my corpse yet

if you fast travel between 2 beds you get the special saddle too right?

Sorry I forget who posted the info below, i'm just pasting what I have.

It might be useful info for you.

Edit, I've not tried the below yet. My game is over 30 days old, (solo game that is) Still cooking.

LocalPlayer.arkprofile
TheIsland.ark
TheIsland_Anti_CorruptionBackup.bak
TheIsland_NewLaunchBackup.bak

If you delete the three files that start with "TheIsland..." it will delete the world, but not your character. So you can start with a fresh world without losing all your experience and engrams, etc. (Make sure to choose Respawn when you start the new game).

This is also a great way to clean up the world when they introduce new dino's and things.

If you delete just the LocalPlayer file, it will reset your character but leave the world intact. Of course, all the things you built will no longer belong to you, but they will still be there.

And, as the others said, if you delete all the files you will start completely from scratch with a new character and a new world.

Thanks to everyone who posted the solution to this. They made it now so that you can't lose the saddle if you die which helps a lot.

I took these steps and it "worked" but I lost my dossier and fog of war on my multiplayer game as well.

then replace the deleted file so u can fix the error. normaly it is working if u delete the named files

this is the closest thing I could find to my problem. does anyone know how to regain an old character I was playing when my PC turned of and I tried to play it again and I lost everything and was back to level one. I play single player so it wasn't a server reset please help

If you didn't back up your single player save then you won't be able to restore your old survivor. Sorry.

Step 1.) go here Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal
Step 2.) Delete '' LocalPlayer.arkprofile '' this will reset your skills (player skills and character)
Step 3.) Delete '' Theisland.ark '' This will reset the map

You can delete both without any problems. If the profile did not work go back into your ark folder and delete another folder which should have '' profile '' in it and it will work. I had to delete 2.
