Love how the first reply in this thread was a complete troll, but very few knew it, back then, lol.
Increasing taming effectiveness during a tame is not possible. To get the highest effectiveness, always do full kibble tames.
If you don't have Kibbles, use Prime Meat for carnovores or Vegetables for herbivores.

You will always lose some effectiveness unless your taming multiplier is at x50 or something
You do not and can not increase the taming effectiveness. The taming effectiveness is essentially nothing more then a pre-tamed level increase bonus based on what you use to tame said dino multiplied by it's base level.
Ultimately kibble will yield the highest results if you completely tame said dino using it's favorite kibble. After that it's reduced based on the "food source" used and decreases over the total time it takes to tame said dino.
