i think it also has to do wit hthe remaining health it has n the dino it self ofc n lvl theres just to much info right now to determine how the efficiency works

Its less effective when its low on health bc - you know, can you eat better when someone keeps punching in ur face? So it drops /logic

I thought it was based on the foods you tame them with. I switched out blue berries for red while taming a dodo and the effectiveness went from 21% to 28%. Maybe 28% is the best right now, unless the premium meat from large animals gives more for carnivores.

Also you should feed them narco berries instead of punching them in the face lol

*force feed* - i dont think an carnivore will eat those :I

They don't count towards hunger / taming for carnivores probably, but I did tame the small spitter dino with meat & force feeding them narcoberries. Its currently level 6 :D

Punching the dino decreases the "taming effectiveness"

Narcotics and starving them with rotten meat. Then feed them.

Aside from all of the obvious trolls? The tame is more effective the less you feed it. IE: DO NOT force it to eat meat/berries, and only force it to eat Nacroberries as needed. The less it has eaten when it's fully tamed, the more effect the taming was.

If you don't feed them they will stop taming. It needs food to get tamed. Starving the dinosaur removes the progress! :(

That's why you *first* starve them. So they can appreciate The Meat so much better.

On stream they pointed out that starving it first just makes it eat more once you start taming it lol. It's the same amount of food over time.

Wait 5 minutes, dinosaur accumulates 20 hunger.
Wait 1 minute, the dinosaur accumulates only 4 hunger.

Same amount of hunger.

Basically this does nothing, nay even lower effectiveness and cost ya berries, all you do is lower his food so he eats it all at once, every time he eats = tame %, so youre just costing yourself more berries.
Taming effectiveness is based on remaining health I believe, then slowly decreases.

Right, but taming effectiveness ticks down over time because you have to keep stuffing the dino with sedatives. If you let it get hungry and then gorge itself on a ton of food all at once, you're not taking those TE% hits.

Effectiveness and taming time are both improved if you leave it starve

Starve it while keeping narco's on it to keep it knocked out, then put the food they need in it. Viola your taming effectiveness and speed of taming are through the roof. :)

And how do you starve it effective ? Just feed it narcos and wait? Or do you use rotten meat or smting else?
Gunstar-xXx-Hero Jun 6, 2015 @ 4:54pm
i did the starve thing then feed them but what it seemed like to me was that the time it took to starve them took just as long as just feeding them from the start. it just does a big chunk of taming a fast rate but the time it took to starve them i would have been at the same point if i was feeding them all along. atleast that how it seemed to me.

I tried taming something right after knocking it out and the taming effectiveness was only 19%. Might be because of the low health. So I guess leaving it to starve works primarily because it gives it time to heal, if it can. Otherwise some item needs to be added to the game so when I maul something to near death with my fist it doesn't take forever to tame.
