HELP! steamPS3 -asncTCPsocket created & destroyed
Hey fellas,

so me and a group are trying to configure and get their ARK server going and we've run into this problem and whatever we do nothing seems to work. We have tried changing query ports and have patched every single time a new one is released. We've poured through the .ini files for anything that may be off or wrong. Now we're at a wits end and hope any of you may have a solution. Basically we get the following message in our logs:

steamPS3 -asncTCPsocket created

and about a minute later we get this:

steamPS3 -asncTCPsocket destroyed

This leaves any player trying to connect hanging and they have to ctrl+alt+del out. So yeah, any ideas as to what may be causing this? Due to the TCPsocket in this message we've started to figure that this is somehow Port related. But we've changed the port (and yes made sure they're opened) and we still get the same error/message.

There is still a lot of buggs i have a server up as well 60+ people on it running on server 2012 things run nice for now but sometimes i do get those messages. I had to updated the server like 5 times already make sure everytime you see the clinet version update you update the server as well.

Any more people who can verify that they get this message in the log would be beneficial for all of us, the more people that have the issue and post about it collectively the more likely they are to prioritize this issue.

I get these messages to. Not always, but after some hours uptime, they will start to pop up. The server seems to be running fine though. I would still like no know what they mean. Tried googling ofc, no resault.

i'm also getting this message, i put my server online on the second day of ARK, somewhere around patch 170.0 theese messages started to pop up in the host window ( gettin quite alot of them ) think it's people trying to join but get timed out, i also heard members of my server saying it was fine joining but after like 10 minutes they would get kicked out..

Cannot find a fix online, hope they fix it soon!

I have the same on my serverm, there is a lot of this STEAMPS3 Async and Asnc
TodesJaeger Jun 21, 2015 @ 3:00am
Afaik: Server tries to get lagfree, so this is why Async are created and if the messages are synchronous it gets destroyed.

Start playing on your server and download something in the background so you start lagging... You will see the server starts to create & destroy Async Sockets...

This can happen, that the player laggs or the server laggs...

I've been hosting a server with no issues whatsoever. I saw this happen once after my server running for a while. haven't react at all and start to play without questioning myself at that time.

Now it happen again and just per pure curiosity I google it and found this topic. Here is the 3 things I've change recently about my setting so far before those weird message:

1: Add a Mod (Admin remote) on my .ini file

2: install "ARK DEV KIT" from steam AND from Unreal (so one of those goes in steamapp, dunno if that could really affect the server but...)

3: Lack of Update. I mean, I notice the need to update my game itself since the dev release (another) small update. Every-time it happen, I need to close my server (wich seems to update itself while running but, I could be wrong) and then steam will update ARK. Otherwise, I will get an error (I guess since the Game (server part) is still running, cannot fully update.)

So this time, I try to update my game (ARK) without closing the server and try to log in.
Strange, I have been able this time, and nothing seems to be wrong either.

So here is the thing:

Either A) that happen when I was AFK and a bunch of people connected at the same time, wich made my server lag in the process,

Or B) after a while, something's getting weird with the refreshing part of the server, as TodesJäger said.

BUT, the main thing is that I still can connect to my server (well now for sure, don't know still if I would have got in some issues at the moment when those messages appear...) So IMO I would check something else than that as the main issue for a faulty server that never works from the start.

The only thing I can see is that it could be possible that my sever start to lag at the moment it was updating itself... which lead to those weird message :)

Hope it help someone !

Hey, I have not found a fix for this, but I never got this message until I allowed one change to my server last night. I think the message maybe related to allowing "Tribute downloads". Until I allowed the tribute stuff my server never showed this message. Now it pops every time someone connects. Before my server restart tonight I am gonna turn it off and have a few friends join to see if it still happens. I'm not really handy with tech stuff, but I hope this helps y'all who are.

Am getting this error message now which seems to be accompanied by some lag. We are using waaay more server than we need and only about 6% of our ram and 12% of our CPU at the busiest. This is annoying...
