Local Servers with Hamachi!
Hey! Has anyone figured out how to host a local server by using Hamachi or whatever? Just want to join a game with a few friends without joining the flooded servers on the list!

Thanks

just host a private server with the UE4 server bat file and password it.

1. Turn on Hamachi have everyone join

2. Follow this guide:

http://arksurvivalevolvedforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8

Skip the portforwarding part and dont bother to check on their website for your server.

When the server is succesfully up follow the instructions in the guide when you want to join. Have your friends add your server to their favorites using the steam server list via your hamachi IP. Then have them go ingame and to their ingame favorites to join the game.

Special thanks to Maroszek

Ask if you have any questions.

I will try to in the future however if you have any specific questions or problems feel free to ask me for a fast response.

Use the guide above all the way till what he says about people joining the server. (Skip the portfowarding part- you use hamchi)

The only other part of the guide you want to read is for how the server host joins his own game.

The way others conenct to a hamachi server is different than what it says in the guide.

1. Have this person open steam and in the top left click view.
2. Click servers
3. Click favorites
4. Click add a server and have them type in your hamachis ip.
5. Have them go in game and click on their favorites to see your server.

These servers require alot of ram to run, and even then they usually take anywhere form 3- 7 mins to acutally show up as "online"

Ask if your run into a prob.

I suggest staying away from Hamachi.

Why?

I use hamachi because I can use it without the hassle of allowing the ports through my security software.

I think it's that very port opening point that they're suggesting you stay away from it for I think?

I followed all the directions but my friend can't join for some reason, only I was able too. Do I have to open any ports for someone not at my house to use it?

If anyone would like to test this with me, PM my account for the server IP.

If you are having trouble try using the ark server manager, after setting it up simply selecting your hamachi under multi home when you are reading to start the server.

You should be able to join the same way as before but this is much more of a full proof way.

I got my server working and my friend can join now :D. I just disabled my firewall and port forwarded the ip and changed port to 25017.

Someone who was successful, please make a simple YouTube video showing exactly what you have to do.
