Stealth & Agility Gameplay: Is There Any?
My favourite characteristic in my top list of open world games is that they give you the option to be the your own unique playing style/class. If you want to be a tank you can be a tank, if you want to be a ranger you can be a ranger, if you want to be a deadly shadow you can be that too.

Personally, my favourite playing style is using a mix of stealth and agility and I am really hoping that the devs have added or are working on some really solid mechanics to support this playing style.

Simple things make a huge difference to experience, things like detection systems based on light & sound with a clean visual & audio indicator and also the more advanced movement systems like running, jumping off of walls, grabbing edges and pulling yourself up, climbing walls or other climbable object, swinging, rolling, dodging, sliding, timed rolls from great heights, dare I say parkour, etc.

Have items to support the playing style is huge such as traps, distractions/lures, tranquillizers, silencers on guns, throwing/ranged weapons, variations of throwing/ranged weapon ammo (fire, water, oil, explosive, firecracker, etc).

I wouldn't expect everything and the kitchen sink to be built in to this game but I think having at least something that would allow those of us who enjoy stealth gameplay in this type of game would make a huge difference for us.

This topic is speaking my language. I don't expect much beyond running faster, though, but I'd love to be wrong.
My language as well. This is filled with numerous brilliant ideas on how to add an agility aspect to the game! :D
they already said that they are going to work on some kind of agility mechanism
PVP on bases i guess this'd be alright, sneaking in over the walls (or lack of walls) or parachuting off your flying pet into hostile territory to steal valuables, kill docile pets for meat (/other evil means) and generally be a griefing nuisance by kidnapping folk for poop farms and free pet kibbles/ shark attractant/ nuisance making / gladatorial games / questionable roleplay / Volcano sacrifices / Carrot on a stick encouragement for your pets, the list is endless.

PVE i guess would be a uncertainty, if the creatures do have any relevant detection system that isn't too OP as to aggrovate them from three square kilometeres away with a single drop of blood, and them not being dumb enough to only aggrovate when getting close to proximity (subjective to the creature) i guess we'll have to entrust the dev team for now.

Predator cloaking sounds silly, but as a suggestion, a end game cloaking device (not as complicated as it sounds, as for visual effects, you could have it merely break up your character's model into tiny dots or slivers that are hard to see from far away and have a limited battery) or even ghille suits and camoflage for different terrains that should be slightly customisable as to modify it with a palette of colours to give players control.

Bright pink camoflage for diving into a raptor nest guns blazing? Sure. Ok.
ghillie suit seems fine but cloak device on a hardcore survival game with a pvp aspect seems way to op in my opinion

In the interview with Jesse Rapczak (towards the end 46 minutes) he starts talking about the level up stats. Mentioning movement speed, stamina, melee(?!) This was a question about carry weight, so possibly capacity is a stat too. I presume there are other stats also but haven't heard/seen them mentioned.
I am 100% with you on this! I love feeling different from others in games. My dream for this game is that there would be an element of parkour-esque gameplay style for those who like speed and agility. However if you want to wear heavy armor you move slower and can't hang with the speed demons. Same with stealth, you would have to wear lighter armor to move silently and if you wore heavy you make more noise. These would be nice additions to the feel of the game and give some individuality.

Idk if I am on board with 'classes' per say but as that kind of locks you in...but I like having a variety of abilities to chose from and master that lead you to a role the more you use them.

SO excited for this game!
Personally, in Skyrim, I loved the "stealth archer" type of play style. For solo players in this game, I can't help but think that a strong "stealth" type of skill tree would help make solo gameplay that much more doable/immersive.
Yea i love this idea! Stealth with a Grappling Hook and a Sniper Rifle. Get Trank darts in your sniper perch up on a cliffside and find the biggest T-Rex and make it yours!!
It's nice to hear that I am not alone with this playing style. I think Dying Light nailed down the movement system and I hope that they can use elements of that, a poorly timed jump in that game is truly terrifying when you are being chased because you have to pull yourself up and if the zombies are too close it's game over.

Thief and Assassin's Creed have great stealth mechanics that I am hoping will make it's way into the game but time will tell.

I don't like the idea of locked in classes but I do like having the option of adjusting your builds/playing style that can be identified as "classes" just like how we would assign imaginary classes based off of our skill tree and attributes in the Diablo franchise. Having said that I think it would be a nice option to be able to follow that idea of being able to re-adjust your builds/skills without having to start your game over. I don't like the idea of doing it any time on the fly but I think it would be cool to have like a mysterious pool of enlightenment & cleansing where you enter it and it resets your attributes and skills allowing you to re-adjust your build.

Darts would be an awesome touch and I was really happy to hear the devs mention that there will be silencers and sniper rifles :)

weight is the "capacity" stat, there is no set slot amount, more that you can only carry so much weight before encumberance.
