Any limit on how many players can be in a tribe ?
Wondering how many players can be in a tribe, I think it would be good to limit the number of players that can be in a same tribe, like.. 10, 20 or something like that . :)

Personally I disagree that there should be a limit. Or if there is let the server owner/host set that limit. Having no limit or dynamic limits allows much more choice in the realm of play style. If everyone on one server can be allied that is great IMO. Some people will choose to play in completely Co-op situations, some will look for the cutthroat lobbies where whatever goes. Its better to let players decide where they fit, instead of trying to choose for them.

i hope the server lets you know how many tribes there are, and how big each one is.

Yeah that would be a great and necessary feature for a game like thing that wants to be truly successful.

It would be even cooler if someone on your tribe had to scout the other tribes to discover those facts. If you ever played Starcraft or Command & Conquer it was always a fun playing mechanic to send out a suicide scout to see how big your enemies base was and where they were located.

I suppose in order to do something like this there could perhaps be a totem signifying how many players are in the tribe?

I like the idea in fact I was thinking along the same lines just now. It would be quite neat to say pop up the map and see various icons representing what you know. And seeing that map grow and change based upon the structures built on it, as long as your character is knowledgable of those changes.

For example if someone built a wall and you came across it it would update on your map and show the wall, which would be a certain color base upon the allegiance of the builders' tribe. Enemy walls would be red obviously, your tribes would be blue or green, allied tribes would be the other in blue or green and neutral would be gray. Now, anything on the other side of that wall would still be unknown unless you had laid eyes on it perhaps.

that could be complex, an easier thing to do, would be note down yourself what you discover on the map

While true ryaucas, some tribes likely would have had some system of mapping things out, and spreading knowledge in real time, as things like this really build a sense of community when everyone has input and is helping the tribe out in someway even if its just knowledge. It gives purpose to things like scouting before that knowledge can impact what your tribe decides to do for the day. Imagine a little ingame table/map that could be built with little pieces representing all kinds of things. Dinos, enemy fortifications, Ark pillars ETC. It would be built in a tribes war room or w/e.

If each tribe had a limit to one of these it may be viable, hell I don't truly know what in the realm of possibility for this game so I don't really know how many assets a game/server like this can manage and how well, but I'm fairly certain theres away to do this. Obviously its not the main priority at this time, and I feel the dev team is quite good at judging these things, but at some point down the road, this would be very neat to see, and I think would really bring tribes together.

I think it's a good idea that you can have loads of tribe members. Then you could form villages or towns because you have loads of people.

It would be quite neat. I had those hopes for TSL but this game has the potential to go there and far beyond.

What about some kind of tribe leveling system? At first your start out with only a max of say 5-10ish players and as you progess in levels you can recruit more members?

I wonder what the outcome would be if there was one server out there with everyone in the same tribe. A hundred or so people all banded together. What massive build and settlements they'd accomplish.
