Possibly. It isn't an exact science, but it may make them more likely to appear.

Spawning in single player is different to spawning on a dedicated server. On a server, the entire map is populated with creatures at the outset (although they are in stasis until a player goes near them and loads the area in). But in single player, to reduce the load on the client's computer, only the small section of map around the player is loaded in at one time, and the rest of the map is effectively ignored. So nothing will spawn in a location until the player approaches that area.

So if you have not visited the mountains before, gigas and carchs will never have had the chance to spawn in those areas, because that part of the map will never have been loaded. And even if you did visit before, those two are coded to be very rare spawns, so the game may not have made them pop up yet. The more time you spend in that area, the more likely it is that the game will choose to make one appear. But because they are rare, it may still be a long time before that happens. And you would have to be pretty close to the mountain peak, as the area loaded in around the player isn't all that big.

Side note: If you want to check if any have spawned on the map already but feel like the creature finder mod is a little OP, there is a way to do it using administrator commands as well. You would have to activate the disable hibernation launch option as mentioned in my last post, which may cause lag, but if you did that you could then press TAB twice to bring up the full screen console. Then you could use the GetAllState command to search and see if there are any gigas and carchs in existence anywhere on the map.

This command may be less OP than the mod, because it will not actually tell you the location of those creatures (if there are any), it will only list that they exist somewhere on the map. You would still have to go out and find them. Up to you if you want to do that or not though.
Thank you for all your help Hermit i will try it

Note that they have a spawn time of every 4 or so hours! You can speed up game speed with commands in singleplayer to force em to spawn! Or. You can use simple spawners to set your spawns and then force spawn em manually!
How do u know this?
