This is one game I wished I never bought, if they are going to make a game then they should have it all resources able to be found through out the game not just in cretin parts where you can not get to them

this sounds like the post of a new player struggling with skill and knowledge development
yeah gregory you right. if i want megalodon meat, i should just be able to chop down a palm tree and nab it off a coconut. i like the way this guy thinks

Everything is accessible eventually, you just need to advance.
99% of ressources can be found from the beginning. There are only few you can get/ need through dlcs (or boss fights).

Some ressources are harder to get, they are considered late game, like obsidian, black pearls, artifacts or alpha components.

It's easier to adjust the map settings when playing singleplayer than grinding for 10 k hours, except this is your plan. With a bit min maxing you can have a nice 50 hours journey from start to finish even in singleplayer. heads up champ

There is a creative mode.

If you don't want to do that, the next easiest thing would be to go to Herbivore Island:

In my opinion, herbivore island is a terrible starting base location. It is about as far away from crystal and obsidian as you can get. Sure, there are zero hostile dinos, but it really isn't worth it.

You should read the OP's post again instead of basically saying "Let them eat cake".

Edited Note: Every post so far has been basically "get good", with no suggestions about how to do it. Give them the benefit of your advice instead of kibitzing mine.

how about the very basic start of watching youtube videos of gameplay? or just generally understanding that as a survival game, not everything is going to be spoon fed to you

That's a good start.
The best way to accomplish all of this is to just pay someone to play the game for you!

Automation, that's the ticket. I suggest recruiting younger siblings. Pay them in candy.
Basic resources are pretty easy to get, once you get into intermediate resources is when it can become a hassle. Once you get a flyer, an aquatic tame, it make getting those resources much easier.
"Man I wish every game I ever owned that has DLCs would just add that content into the base game for free because if you can add it 10 years later, then why did you not add it in the beginning" - this thread
