So you wont buy Ark but you will buy someone's steam account?? GOOD ONE
Peoples accounts are worth far more than one copy of Ark... It all sounds dodgy to me
Probably never again. Ark: Survival Evolved hasn't had its price changed since August of 2023. They want you to buy Survival Ascended, not Evolved.
I think they won't miss a chance to earn a little bit of cash.
ARK Survival Ascended just recently went on sale from Dec 16 - Jan 2. ARK Survival Evolved was not included in the sale. Wild Card no longer supports ASE and is only pushing ASA sales due to additional ASA DLC and Curse Forge premium mod profits.
If the base game ARK Survival Evolved for 14.99 or the bundle (ARK Ultimate Survivor Edition) of 34.60 is too much then you might want to look at other games. It is very unlikely that the price will ever decrease again.
Selling of accounts is common in mobile phone games. There's usually a player account code, so you sell the code, and someone just takes over that player account. It violates the TOS of almost every mobile game I've seen, but no one cares or enforces it. The OP doesn't understand what steam really is, or they wouldn't ask like this. They're probably thinking it just sells one game, not the hundreds someone may own on the single steam account.
There's a huge market for buying accounts on mobile games. People without traditional income spend insane amounts of time endlesly re-rolling a mobile game, hoping for rare unlocks on each new account they make. There's this weird insane belief that some account are rigged, and pre-fated to get a ton of rare unlocks. Which, may or may not be true. I've seen a few posts where someone did some math (albeit with a really small sample pool) and found some irregularities.
But, the mobile phone games are all set up on a lot of gaming theory. And when I say "gaming" I mean as in casinos. Gambling, games of chances, etc. They're using the same exact tactics as casinos do. And modern casinos DO change the odds of winning, often on the fly now. In the past it required opening up a specific machine, and mechanically changing settings. Now they do it with software. In a single second, they can decide everyone in the casino now has a lesser chance of winning. You are suddenly more likely to lose on any computer controlled gambling machines. And it's regulated and perfectly legal.
You can't even buy the DLC's anymore, without either buying a season pass, or the ultimate edition, which also means you can't buy them for a friend, because they're considered a bundle last I tried.
