Pretender's WIP Guide to Bridge Building
My favorite activity in the game is building bridges, since it helps everyone, not just me or my tribe. Follow the below link to the guide that I have made about it!

This looks great - hope you work out the problems soon! I'll be checking back. :)

We are building a huge bridge approximately 10 pillars high across a river from a cliff on one end to a hill on the other. All of it using wood, 3 ceilings wide.. We are approx halfway done with 30 ceilings in current length when done it will be lighted with lamp posts

We've had no problems with setting only pillars with 2 ceilings in between (max distance between pillars), except for one which had to have a wooden foundation set below it as it did not register hitting the river floor.

We are using mammoths for both gathering and placing as on a dino you get extended range on placement. Each mammoth is capable of carrying 1000 wood and we use that very fast. I can't think of a better animal to use with this project...it simply would be hell without them.

I'll be reporting some of my own findings soon. I'm intrigued, Osiris! Please do show screenshots.

I'll be investigating why thatch roofs can extend 5 tiles away from a regular doorframe house, but not from a pillar. You will hear from me soon!

I certainly will post up some screenshots when we complete the first stage.

They really need to add some bridge specific part.....the stuff we have now is not suitable for bridges...and its just not excepltable..

Give me some rope and I will make you a footbridge that can span any gap....from only rope....

Can make advanced firearms, gps systems, and electrical systems...but not a rope bridge, thats holds up to scrutiny!

Well now..thats damn respectable bridge sir!.....esp considering the building mechanics and parts are just 100% counterproductive for bridge building at this time.

Oh boy...I can see that one screenshot being the jumping point for new pvp aspect...TOLL BRIDGES lol...
Cal Paquette Jun 24, 2015 @ 5:11pm
Most of the controls lie in building on slopes and pillars having bad snap mechanics. I think that'll be fixed. But yes! Toll bridges it is!

First stage of construction. Sucks that some pillars had to have foundations under them. Using 3 screens at 4800x900 so its a very wide shot
