Metal does 1 damage to wood structures
Was this intentional? Don't see anything in the patch notes... This is ridiculous... Sure.. buff wood all you want but 1 damage? I'm not hitting a wall 10,000 times.

Depends on your strengh, really... But why waste a metal tool when you can use a trike ?

em I do 27 damage with my metal spear to a wood wall. Not sure what you are refering to.

lol

I think they want Base raiding to be harder, Prob a bug though, But overnight raiding is much to easy

The intention is that once they get to wood structures you would need to use a dinosaur. Think about how hard it would be and how long it would take to destroy a solid wood fortified wall with a hatchet or pike. It would take longer than it would take your digital character to hit it 10000 times. This is why medieval nations brought seige engines to the party. We are lucky enough to play a game where the siege engines are dinosaurs.

It's a dino gate. 10K HP, noob.

Have any of you tried with dinos yet to see if they nerfed that too?... It's very possible...

I am fine with this. Was silly someone could walk up and cut a door down in 5 minutes. You want my stuff, time to work for it son. And you better hope there isnt an inner wall or second door lol

This ^ everything about this ^ ... People don't realize how hard it is to chop through solid wood but seriously guys go find a hard wood cabin in the woods and take a long steel axe even , it would take half a day at least and a lot of muscle and elbow grease to bust through just one layer! When raiding is made riskier and harder this game will be more amazing.

Were all game nerds none would last 10 mins chopping before our arms fell off lol.

I wish we could get an official response on this, as I am curious myself as if true, this would vastly shift the game mechanic.

Haha, well in game it's easy to confirm, I meant dev confirm as an official intentional change and not a patch oversight.

@OP

Are you on an official or a private server? I know private servers now have the option of increasing structure strength, and on our RP server we've put a 5x multiplier on structures.

Like Hamgeon said use a trike - even better, a mammoth. Or try using rockets or grenades. Rockets are supposed to by 2x in one of yesterday's patches.

Honestly though, when base raiding, only make as big of a hole as you need. If you're running in, take out a wall or door section (less hp). If you need to get a dino in, use it to bash down a larger hole.... really no need to hatchet a dino gate

Official server. I agree it should be harder but this is too much of a nerf or maybe not the ideal or smartest thing to do.

It should be next to impossible to get into a wooden fort without siege engines (dinos). If not for immersion for game ballance. If anyone with a hatchet can break into your all wood base in a matter of minutes then everyone would be forced to race as quickly as possible to metal structures and it would make all other building materials pointless. In fact when a new server opens you may as well refuse to build anything, just roam around and kill till someone in your tribe is high enough lvl to build metal structures at that point. Better that wood is viable. It makes sense in the tier system. Thatch can be raided on foot, wood can be raided with dinos, metal can be raided with explosives.
