Theorycrafting: GPS Device

I was just having a play around with my GPS while taming a scorpion, just noticed i could right click and pull it closer to my face, and that got me wondering... On the bottom of the GPS it mention's "signal" with the 4 LED"s Red Yellow Green Yellow and a switch.

Does this mean in the future maybe, we will be able to make GPS locator's and attack them to our saddle's, tamed pets, armor etc so if we loose one, or get killed and have your item's taken away, you can flip on the tracking switch and get lead in a "general" direction to where the locator is?

If this is just me being optimistic about getting such a feature i can dream big can't i ;)

Not yet, but this is absolutely planned for this summer. An embedded GPS tracker (which would be visible but very tiny) carefully placed strategically on a "conveniently tameable" creature could enable you to track it back to the enemy base.... the possibilities are very amusing :)

very nice, i wonder if they will even let us make some kind of arrow or bullet for a ranged tag of a target, that would be real fun.
