How to fly?
How do you fly? I just got my first Pteranodon (2h taming) and it died when i was flying next to ground( he ran out of stamina when i was right next to the ground trying to find controls online on how to fly) I spamming spacebar to land but it would not land or fly into the sky.

Can someone tell me the full controls on how to fly. How it works, how to land, how to fly and what not to do when flying.

I really would like to know that, too. There is no information about it in the keyboard layout options.

mabey it runn out of stamina ?
the will go crash when out of stamina, one thing to keep your eyes on when flying.
and to lands simple hold spacebar and it will go down to land. its not that hard, just keep trying ;)

Point mouse where you want to go and press w. Same with any other mount.

Right now you can't land your birds will still riding them. If you want them to land, go close to the ground and dismount.

If they run out of stamina, they'll slowly glide to the ground in a little circle. They don't die.

Please, anybody? I really can't find the keys to use in the options.

Load your Ptera up with meat and stimberries, I don't think stimulants work.

Use the stimberries to incrase it's stamina which goes down real fast and force land if you don't watch the stamina bar.

I lost one when it force landed and then flew into a lake and just sat at the bottom and got killed by fish :/

What you really need is an Argentavis, they fly much longer and can kick ass too :D

Any other mounts keys are WASD to move. I am not kidding when I say I DONT KNOW the keys to fly. It does not work with W and mouse. The Ptera only goes ONE way, not up nor down. just one direction. can't turn, can't get higher...only space works...to land.. Thats it. I'm really serious when I beg you to please help me to tell me how to control it...:-(

the only thing you can do to regain their stamina is dismount next to the ground- that's E.

we'll get walking soon.

Fine, but I don't know HOW to fly. That's the point. I really don't know HOW.

Why does nobody understand me? :(

No it only flies in the same direction. all the time, no matter what direction the cam looks to. Nobody seems to understand me. Only W and Space works. The bird flies the same direction no matter what I do, click and look at.

Alright guys, I fixed it. Somehow the K key was activated to toggle the cam view. Now it works as you said....

Make sure you're in the mount's third person mode where the mouse scroll instantly zooms in and out, not the third person camera view used for seeing yourself.

As KJ has said "W" to move forward and mouse to go up,down, left, right. You have to use W to change direction with the mouse though. And the space bar with make your mount go close to the ground and automatically dismount you and it will eventually stay still on the ground.

In my personl experiance with the Pteranodon it has been very unpridictable. If you can I would tame an Argentavis, a little slower and harder to tame because there in hosile teritory but worth it.

The only key to move is the W by default. Turn with the mouse while flying. If you aren't moving then all you are doing is rotating the camera. It does make it a little tricky to turn. You might find 1st person or 3rd person easier, try and see what works best for you.

Do not hit E while you are flying, as you will jump off your bird, and it could be a long deadly fall to the ground!

Space is supposed to bring the bird close to the ground and then have you jump the last few feet without damage. I have had some problems recently with the space bar not working myself so I think its a bug. In that case get close to ground and use E.

The birds use stamina when flying, and if "sprinting" use it faster. If it runs out it will go in for an emergency landing, which could put you in a dangerous spot (water, or near nasty dinos, etc.).

You can also pick up people and small tamed dinos by flying right over them and using the right mouse button. Right clicking again will drop them. The left mouse button is for attacking something you are close to.

Hope this helps.
