Ascended Gear

I've heard of some people saying they're getting Ascended versions of equipment from drops. This gear apparently makes you like a god (3000 armor, 1 shot most dinos, etc..) is this actually legit or just something you get from using cheats? I've never seen anything but Primitive gear in drops.

I know there are level 60 drops but I'm only level 41 I have no idea what's inside. Can't imagine that ascended stuff would drop in boxes though given how absurd they're supposed to be

I have spent days farming drops and have only seen ramshackle. I have like x20 of each gun and 3 boxes of metal equipment and nothing more than ramshackle.

You only will find it in cave drops, not surface sky drops. And even then, you are not getting the gear, you are getting the blueprint, unless you are playing on a very high difficulty server where you need the massive leg up from a high end item to play it effectively.

I've seen blueprints have slight stat upgrades but nothing like ascended yet. I know you can spawn them in via console in local play though.

I believe this is not true, you can get some blueprints that cost more for better weapons but nothing that would one shot a trike or stego etc

It is the top tier of gear quality yes. Primitive is the lowest then it's Ramshackle (we have got a few ramshackle blueprints) not sure what else is in between that and Ascended though. Each tier has a range of quality it applies to as well. For instance a blueprint could still be primitive but give extra armor or extra damage, so dont just discard all known blueprints, some might be better than the engram stuff.

I believe it follows the colors of the supply drops. I can confirm it goes Primitive (White) < Ramshackled (green) < Apprentice (Blue) < Purple < yellow < Ascended (Red)

Interesting. I've been to 4 of the caves multiple times only thing I ever get out of those chests are worthless things like cloth leggings and such.

If you want to test the powerdifference between a weapon you make with an unlocked engram or the ascended. Go local activate cheats and use the giveitem cheat with quality 1 for engram quality and quality 100 for the best there is.

Conclusion is that engram made equipement are just peashooters whereas the ascended are real weapons.

And yes ascended gear can only be gotten from the highest level dropcrates, either the bp so you can make multiple of them for the tribe. But be warned they take a ton lot more resources to craft. You could also find a crafted piece of equipement.

I found a apprentice BP for the Assault Rifle in a red drop. But most of the time i find primitive.

I've tested if you can acctualy get it from any kind of drops on a game of 1 in difficulty and I've never gotten higher than Journeyman in blueprint or items.

So that got me to the conclusion that Acendant gear cant be optained legitimatly at this stage fo the game and I also dont think it can since the devs have gone out and said they plan to add some Acention type stuff later on I believe that is when Acended gear can be optained.

Did you try the max level cave gear from the level 55 cave at the NE island? That is supposed to be where you find Ascendent gear usually, from it's level 55 supply drops, and even then that might only be on the higher difficulty servers..

I did indeed try the Monster Island cave, I tested all the drops I know exist in the game and I tested them several times.

Could easily be I'm just unlucky so dont take my words for fact but as far as I know there is no way to get it legitimatly at this stage of the games development.

Got an Ascendt Hatchet from a levle 35 sky drop. Durability 350, weapon damage 350%... almost one hits everything (trees, stones, dinos....) feels like a cheater weapong, yes.
