How should I level my Sarco?
I'm getting one right now, And I want it to be able to be use instead of a megalodon. That being said, what should i dump points into?

I would say Health, Stamina, and Melee Damage. That's how I'm statting mine. Here's my thinking:

Sarcos are slow on land, but extremely fast in the water (despite turning like a drunken cow), so movement speed won't help too much. If you're using them for aquatic travel (like they're meant for) you won't really be using them to carry metal or some other heavy stuff, just silica pearls and oil... so carry weight isn't as important. They don't have an oxygen stat, so 'nuff said there.

That leaves them to be an aquatic killing machine... and all three of the stats I named at the beginning are right up that alley. On mine, I'm getting Health to about 2000, stamina up around 7-800, and dumping the rest in melee damage. So far, I can murder entire packs of megaladons.

If you are looking for optimal sarco, you should tame a bunch, like 10-20 and look stat wise which one is faster, someone told me that oxygen affects swim speed and speed doesn't affect it that much on human, but I haven't confirmed that, yet.
The other reason to do so is that the base tamed stat affects how much stat you gain per increase.
And Sarco>Megalodon since they can go on land and cuddle you when you sleep.

How does one level up a sarco too?
di eshor ribly Jun 22, 2015 @ 3:28am
Same way you level up any dinosaur: ride it (idle xp, kinda) and kill stuff.

Sarco's are amazing, I got a lvl 45 sarco and its a killing machine, with the aoe damage etc... phew! its a monster, and is actually better then my Trexes atm, just take it down the river and slay everything on each side, takes about 10min/lvl if you are effective, I used 20min to go from 59-60 on my char and my pet got almost 2 dings from it at 40+

A good way to lvl em is to maybe tame 1-2 and a megalodon. Mount the mega and then get the sharks to follow the mega and leave the mega on neutral or aggressive and when the mega goes and attacks things the sarco's will follow and attack too..easy levels :D

what is its AoE?
Alps Jun 22, 2015 @ 3:31am
hmm, could i jsut set it to aggressive and let it live in a cove by my base?
di eshor ribly Jun 22, 2015 @ 3:32am
The AoE is just it's basic attack. It's a directional cone in front of it. Not quite as "picky" in aiming as, say, a raptor. It's just a shame that they can't swim vertically like a megaladon though... you kind of need to just sink.

Edit: I wouldn't set it to aggressive unless you're nearby to watch/help or have a bunch of them tamed and on aggressive as well. At least not until they're mean enough to solo a few brontos at once.

My tribe built a marina for our megaladons/sarcos on the beach (PVE, Private Server). The hardest part about that was getting the Behemoth Gate to place correctly... looks really impressive though!

Edit: First up, a bit of health. Get it to 1000 and it will be good for a while. Then get melee up a bit, a bit of stamina, and repeat. I find any dino under 1000 health to be pretty squishy. So far my sarco is at ~1500hp, ~350% melee, and ~500 stamina. I haven't tackled a Bronto with it (I'm a bit of a coward with anything that took me longer than an hour to tame until I'm sure it can handle deadly enemies) but I'm probably getting close. It's only levelled up 20-ish times or so though (got it at 12. Not the greatest starting level, I know..)

hope you won't be wiped them, lots of work :(

Edit: Just up the HP a little bit to around 1k, then start focusing hard into damage, that's what I did atleast, atm I onehit about everything at 600% damage, and 3 hit brontos. It is extremely satisfying swimming up to a bugged group on the beach clicking twice and watching 200+ meat income <:

Mine is lvl 45 now with 2.5k hp 650% damage and some sta atm, cant remember! but around 1k hp and you will be able to handle all dynos except enemy ridden onces :)
