Water Taps
When you're farming shouldn't water taps add water to the crop plots? Instead of you having to manually put water into the plot

My water taps add water. Is your irrigation hooked up to a water source like a river?

Water taps DO add water to the corps on their own. Provided they are close enough to the plot.

In my set up the plots are as close as possible but the water still drains away. Its saying its irrigated as well

Irrigated means it has water...

If you look at a water tap that connected you see that theres 3 pools of water any field that placed close to the tap gets water from the tap. You can place a tap inside a field if you wish but this uses all 3 water spots for one field.

If it says its irrigated does it matter if the amount of water shown has any? Or should it be fine as long as its irrigated?
Kotli Jun 21, 2015 @ 3:00pm
If it irrigated the water level will be full given enough time.

It says irrigated and constantly ticks down. I thought the irrigation only helped it and it dried out slower. So I water it regularly. I had no idea irrigation was supposed to be 100% support.

Thats what happens with me

You guys know that "irrigated" means there is an active water supply to the crop yeah?

I'm not on to check my farm to confirm whether there is numbers ticking down for the water source once it's irrigated (there definitely is for fertilizer though). But once it's irrigated, you don't have to do anything for it water related.

Hmm I have no problem with my fields (200/200 water) mind you they are only the small ones and each tap has its own water pipe (no split pipes yet).

I have one stone intake. One stone pipe connected to it is blue. Tap is connected to stone pipe. Tap is feeding crop on left and right. Crops say (irrigated). Crops on server start have 0/200 water and it will never go up. Crops with 200/200 will change to 199/200 after a bit. It will go down all the way to 0/200 and I assume that is what keeps killing the crops.

I found the easiest way to ensure irrigation is to put your taps *over* the plants. I had one that was on ground level with the plots and it wouldn't water at all.

I placed the plots first (As I had terrain to deal with) and placed the irrigation system after. I add onto it as needed to keep all my plots irrigated.

ETA: This is my setup and it works beautifully. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=466330693

my crops have been at 199/200 (irrigated) and 10k (fertalized) for like 20m and I even see that its seeding, but I havent even seen a single indication that anything is growing, should the seedling be visible?

I dont use any watering system for farm plots, since the rainfall keeps them all fill all the time anyway...
