Destroying metal walls that block caves

People have had enough time on PvP servers to completely block off caves to other players with metal walls. And it's not just on single metal wall, there is a series of 4-5 metal walls so that if you do not have prior access to any crystal and can only build grenades to destroy them you are going to need around 100 grenades. And if someone is actually defending you have no chance as they have windows to shoot at you.

What I am trying to say is that with the recent nerf to grenades gaining entrance to caves and thus crystal is impossible. If you do gain access then you have to destroy every foundation they have to be able to block it yourself, thus requiring even more grenades.

What they should do is have it to where a heavy dino that can fit into a cave and topple a metal gate over easily unless it has metal foundations attached to the sides of it. From what I have seen, there was barely enough room for the gate. The reason the dino can knock down the gate with ease is because it is going against the dirt around it and not the game itself.

Nerf defenses of bases and outside bases are f****. Up raiding (more damage on grenades/c4) and outsides bases are f****. You can't balance raiding/defense by taking into account caves bases, because otherwise you make outside bases waaaaaay too weak. The whole concept of making a base in a single entrance of a cave destroys everything.

No outside base can afford to make 10 metal gate with metal wall/roof to defend their base, a cave base can afford to do that with very low cost.

I guess either forbid construction in cave(easiest solution), or add multiple entrances, bigger entrances, more caves, threat from behind too, I don't know if it will be enough though.

Or grenades do more damage in caves because of the close quarters. The blast would be amplified since it doesn't spread out.

how much damage does a grenade do? because say you joined a server where all caves are blocked off.. the only way you can get in one to make a fabricator or whatever is by spamming grenades.. I too think caves and the immediate area around the enterence should not be buildable.. however you'd still be able to build a wall outside of the build free zone which is fine.

I've seen this as an issue my self, we have had this REALLY big issue with these 3 or 4 Chinese Tribes on our server (I've heard its the same on a number of other servers as well (Why they play on US server I'll probably never know)) The whole server hates these guys, they walled off all the caves prior to the wipe, the highest level English Tribes all teamed up to take them down, took 2 of the caves from them before the wipe, it was honestly a really cool experience. A Large scale server war.
Now that the wipe has happened my clan took a power grab in the form of the south central cave and are allying with other small tribes to work together in fights, trade and support each other.
My offer to sweeten the deal was that they can come in and out of the cave at will to gather as much as they want whenever they like.
We will overthrow the Chinese and the high level tribes who are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and create our own government on the server.

I know that it can be horrible when all the caves get sealed, but treat the game like an RP, you don't even have to think of it like one, just act like a person, talk with people, create alliances and chance the status-quo!
It seems silly but just treat it like the real world, hell I mean that's where everyone comes from (Well most of us), and do what people have done for thousands of years, get fed up with the ♥♥♥♥ they are dealt rally together and fight back!
Its not easy by any means, but trust me, it adds a lot to any sandbox survival game.

there has been reset .. could have been you who became a cave, do not think this post is necessary here to earn more playing and that others are anticipated , but I give the reason for the issue of crystals should put any outdoor area

not to build in the caves I do not think it was a solution. There are caves that their situation can put walls and surround the entrance so that remains of that first take

ive blocked a cave godo with at least 4dino gates. the funny thing about it tho. i go out for metal and crystals more than i get inside the cave. also, chittin and kreatin is easily obtained with a saber with high melee damage.

the only reason im in the cave is anti-raid tactics. 1way in 1way out.

to all ppl wanting to get in: you seriously overestimate the caves. (in the resource sense)
