Anybody Know How To Fix This? ARK: Survival Evolved
I've had ARK for a couple of days now but I haven't even gotten to play it yet! The game starts up fine but as soon as I'm about to be in a server, it stops responding, minimizes, then goes black over top of all other open windows so I can't see or access them!

I have to restart my PC every time this happens because I can't close ARK or even get to my task manager because it gets stuck under ARK's blackened window.

Someone please help me!

Can u access the options menu before joining a server ?
Change it to Windowed Fullscreen.
Change all graphics options to LOW and untick all the boxes.
Then try joining a server

How long are you waiting for it to load ?
Some people it can take longer than 10 mins.
Try waiting 15 mins.

Being in windowed fullscreen should allow you to alttab anytime and just press CTRL+ESC to access task manager and kill the .exe

Actually you should be able to do ctrl+alt+del or ctrl+esc anytime.

I'm usually waiting more then 15 mins for it to load, plus whenever I alt-tab out the window minimizes and i cant close it or go back into it

Try verifying your game files through steam.
Make sure the server your joining is the same version as your game.

In the main menu of the game it says it down the bottom left.
It should be v177 at the moment.

you have to into the game user settings find game user setiings (its hard to find in binaries) change full screen mode from "0" to "1". run game in native desktop res.
