So I made a Functional chicken Coop
So here's what i did.

I made a 9x9 thatch hut. ramp to the door. no roof.

tamed a bunch of dodos. (make sure you have females and at least 1 male)
and just put them all in there together.

Since they are mate boosted, they are capable of laying eggs just like any other dinos. and eggs are one of the best foods in the game for just a single ingredient. (no they can't hatch.....yet)

I get an egg from each chicken at least once a day. if you store them in the chickens they last for days. and possibly even longer in a preserving box.

And just for fun, I level'd up HP on all of them, and they currently all have over 400HP. I like to leave them on aggro with the door unlocked when i log out.....I've found a few bodies

Neat - Now all we need is troughs for feed and water and we have ourselves a sustainable food industry!

+1 for McDodos. Just because. :)

i think its better to fill coop with untamed dodos (transport them there with flyers or punch them unconscious and drag). That way you dont have to feed them. Also in a 9x9 coop its better to remove inner floor (7x7) and leave only outer walls and foundations.

That's actually really clever - Would they still breed though?

from what some other posts are saying, yes tamed dodo's or wild with a opposite sex present they will breed... as for eggs hatching... thats another question heh
Mansen Jun 18, 2015 @ 5:20am
Oh no - I know they won't hatch yet. No code for that - But just getting free food is nice enough.

Your problem with using wild dodos for egg production and harvest is going to be rather
obvious when you go to pick up one single egg.

Bad Idea

Mansen Jun 18, 2015 @ 6:33am
But... Dodos don't attack you? Or is this different when you pick up eggs? :)

Pick up a Dodo egg within range of a wild dodo , yes they will attack. They will aggro
even if you pick the egg of a tamed dodo, if they are in range to detect the 'theft'.

Applies to all critters in game.

Wild dodos dont work. We tried that, and they were all gone a few hours later. Gotta tame them.
