Alt+Tab crashes the game

While I am waiting for the ridiculously long load screen when im trying to join a server, I like to alt+tab and browse the interwebs. Unfortunately, ever time I do this, ARK ends up not responding and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to shut it down and open it back up.

Pls fix. Or is it just my PC?

i have the same issue !
i alt tab because i talk on skype and my server load time is at average 30min to 1 hour
(internet speed of 120 down 90 up)
this issue makes it to where my game shortens itself in the bottom left corner but a blank white screen to the left side bar and top bar.....
really unfortunate that i cant find a fix to this either..... if i find a fix, ill be sure to let you know!

Have you tried to use steams web browser? SHIFT TAB. That way you're not ALT TABing. Have not tried to do it myself during a load. Just an idea.

My windows decides to ask me if i want to change my colour scheme and i have to either end task OR wait twice as long as normal while it finishes loading.

I have what seems to be a similar issue, but I've noticed that when I alt tab when loading a world or joining a server, Ark's RAM usage skyrockets(doubles very rapidly and probably more than doubles if I let it go) until I end the process via task manager because Ark and my computer becomes unresponsive and unable to alt tab back into it. Additionally, to the person mentioning steam's web browser, the steam overlay does not show up when I'm in the loading screen, so my only option would be to alt tab out. Overlay works fine in game or in menu, but loading screens are no goes.

Ok, thanks for the info. It's just that alot of other games I play will allow me to do it without crashing the game. Maybe they require less resources, I don't know. For example, Skyrim, when loading will not crash for me if I alt-tab to do something else. But in the case of Ark, even at the main menu if I do it, it will crash.

I have no problem with alt+tab while waiting for this game to take its sweet time loading, must be a local issue with your rig.

40GB ram here, haven't experienced the issue once. My computer has gotten up to 18GB ram with all of my programs running @ once.
