I myself play on pve cause people will literally destroy all of your base and kill your pets leaving all loot simply to be ♥♥♥♥♥. I don't care to lose all progress everyday so yeah I am loving my pve life in this game. As are hundreds of others, the community is just that much more enjoyable in pve.
Of course there are going to be crashes & disconnects. It's an alpha. Deal with it. As for the bodies staying in the game world, you should've probably done more research before buying this game. This was known even before Early Access was released.

I know that kind of stinks for solo players, but it's the price of being a lone wolf in this kind of game. And I say that as a solo player myself.
It's up to us whether we want to risk having this happen to us, or if we want to join a tribe for better protection.
I would like to see a server side setting where there could be a time delay added for random disconnects to avoid situations like that, up to 5 minutes after log off your body cannot be looted for example. It's certainly a bit hazy and cannot account for all situations, but it allows private servers some flexibility at least.
doesn't matter imo he has a point you are dependent on a lot of outside sources that can all fail you to play : electricity, internet connection, computer, server, game ...
dying and loosing everything just because you had a power failure for example that's not fun and that not somthing yo can work hard to avoid.
dying and loosing everything because your base wans't secure is not fun but it's a learning experience and can be remedied with some work.
imo it would be best if we had a way to create "stables" for pets and a stabled pet just logs out wen you do same as a pet that you are ridding or that is with you ( close proximity).
And of course your body should also disappear.
If you log out for any reason your body and pets are safe but all the rest can be looted. If you want guard pets just don't stable them they'll remain ingame to protect your stuff.
On the other hand logged out pets don't get xp but to be fair logged out pets don't get hungry either.
Even in solo I would like the opportunity to log out (stable) some of my pets while I'm roaming away from the base so if a wild dino attacks they don't get killed. I won't have any eggs/xp gain on those when I come back so I lost something in the bargain for security, seems fair to me.
Its simply unrealistic to think idealistically that disconnects are not supposed to happen when all is well so never plan for them, they WILL happen and even if its on the players side, its still not fare...
Anything inbetween would be a huge pain and IMHO a waste of good dev time on Important stuff.
No real way for a server to tell if you DC'ed to avoid dying.
Maybe a 5 minute Immune timer...best i can think of.
and i kinda like it...you should Not feel safe in a Survival game.
your surviving and living a nice and "safe" live
