Monster Island return swim?

So I was thinking of taming a dino out on Monster island (the north east island) but the swim back to the mainland looks to be too long for the dino to make it back. has anyone tamed on the island then swam back successfully?

I remember the first supply drop I saw was on that island, I thought I had to go to it. I got rekt by megladon :(

The island has a submerged land bridge going to it on 1 side, you don't have to swim. At least that is what I have heard. I havn't tried.

Yep, actual name is dead island. Probably a bit too far for most things yeah.

tame sharks first? put new pet on passive?? have sharks guard-follow new pet?

I was able to get there just swimming once, not knowing that drops had lvl limitations. I was not able to swim back to the main island (shark attack), but there is nothing stopping you from trying. The most probable outcome is that you won't be able to make it, and you will lose both your original dino (that you use to get there, and now have no way to come back) ,the tamed dino and the time it took you to tame that dino (since there are the same dinos in the island than in Monster Island)

Issue is do they have the stamina for the trip. I know changes have been made to help stop dinos from drowning themselves, i am just not sure if enough has changed to bring the dino back to the mainland from that far

I was wondering the same, but on the other hand i'm yet to see a single mob over 30 there. And everything below I can easily tame on mainland
