Length of Night
So I was just wondering if anyone has bothered to figure out the ratio of night time to day time, or if the Devs have already stated somewhere that I didn't read.

Mainly because yesterday I really noticed how long Night time can feel some times and because it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dark that you are better off staying in doors trying to find things to do to pass time, or simply go afk until it's light, because with the torches limited view you can quite easily get ambushed by certain Dinosaurs that will tear you a new one or even worse you are a glowing beacon to any players, giving away your location.

I am just not sure how long night time is vs day time but it just feels to me like for gameplays sake that it would be nice to have a little more day and a little less night, I am not suggesting an extreme change, but just a little shift, because there isn't much reason to actually play the game when it's dark as the risk vs reward absolutely shifts to where it's not worth risking going outside unless you really need too or don't mind getting rekt by stuff you'd easily deal with in the day time.

Opinions on the whole Day v Night?

Do you need 10 minutes to repair and craft? Do you have both hands?

Night is WAY too long.

It's something you just grow out of. You either come up with stuff to do at night safely, or get progressed enough to where you don't care.

Seriously there is nothing wrong with the night length, this isn't Rust where it is 20 minutes of day and 5 minutes(maybe) of night. Night time is when it is the most dangerous since you have to be extra aware or you'll get caught with your pants down by both players and dinos

Survival game: survive. The above post was right too. I was scared at night at lower levels but you start to learn the safer areas. Once I got my decent raptor I traveled the whole island in the darkness, avoiding the most dense jungle areas and the rockiest areas knowing my raptor could outrun almost any predators that might pop up. I assume once I have a Rex or even a carno, all fear will be gone. It's just a proggression system in the game, another thing to conquer.

Good luck and just keep plugging away and your fear of the dark will eventually disappear.

The night lasts for 8 hours or less in game. And if you live in a safe place or somewhere near the arks or the moon shines, you can go out freely without a torch.

the night is only hard at low lvl..and even then its not that hard cause you can still out run or out manouver most dinos..but like the OP said night is just borring and kind of a waste of time... they should make day 2/3 and night 1/3
