What Do You Name Your Animals?

What do you name your animals? Here is some of my own animal names;

Mother Ngoubou, Female Trike.

She's my main supply for berries and given that I elect to go on foot most of the time, she's both supplies and protects any animals that I go out into the wild to tame. The ngoubou is a cryptozooid from Africa which is described as being like a rhinoceros, but reptillian.

General G'nugly, Male Phiomia.

This was the first animal that I tamed. I was listening to some tracks of Racoon while I was tracking around and one of the songs was "Good & Ugly", which is what inspired the name; Good'n-ugly. G'nugly. However, the same day that I had tamed it and stacked it with supplies for a bridge construction, a sarco attacked us.

One by one, my spears broke and I ran out of my slight stone supply. I presumed that me and G'nugly were done for, so I tried to run and set G'nugly back to passive, but just as I saw my health drop almost to zero, fiddling with the "E" button, the message "Your G'nugly level 7 killed a Sarcosuchus Level 14". Henceforth, G'nugly was given the rank of "General". :3

What are the names of your animals and what are the background behind their choices?

My frist dino was a Parasaur named him Sir Wigglebottom but he was killed by a carno. I was low level he was low level and it was just a bad time to be had.

My second dino was a Trike named her Lady Wigglebottom. I still have her today and she will stright up muder everything and anything.

I have others like Tic Tock the sarco and Sir Stingy the scoripon and more. But Lady Wigglebottom is my favorite.

Ahawi, Female Parasaur

Ahawi is my first parasaur and I love her incredibly much. I tried to find a cryptozooid that I could name her after. There's supposed to be a petroglyph that depicts native americans riding parasaurs, though the glyphs don't have names that I can tell. The prevailing theory is that they are rams. I tried looking up the Apache word for "Ram", but I couldn't find one. So I named it "Deer" in Cherokee instead.

Minmi, Untamed Stegosaur

In the future, I'll be taming a stegosaurus and name her "Minmi", after a stegosaurus species that I decided on for my Pathfinder tabletop game RPG animal companion. I eventually changed the animal companion to an ankylosaurus, though...

Muhuru, Untamed Ankylosaur

This is my next objective. I love ankylosaurs and I really want to have at least one, preferably more. But the first one I will name "Muhuru", after a cryptozoid that is speculated to be a surviving ankylosaurus, spinosaurus, dimetrodon or stegosaurus that lives near Nigeria. This is what I want to be my mount into battle, but it will probably be my mining animal.

Whatever functional names I would use the Dino for or when the kids happens by the screen they have all sorts of silly ideas.

I think that's it... My husband mostly names the males and I name the females. :) I like to tame at least two of everything so we can both use a particular mount at the same time.
