Metal Fence like in this photo?
http://www.technobuffalo.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/ark-survival-evolved-0512-02-1280x720.jpg

This is one of the screen captures fromt he video preview of this game.

Notice the metal fences they have. How can you build these? When I try the "foundations" the top of the foundation is level with the ground.

Just curious as to if there is a trick to fixing them, so they appear as an actual fence?

Thanks!

I think you can build normal walls on them, not sure though. Try it

Yeah, I can build a normal regular wall, but I was hoping to achieve the look of handrails mostly. Not quite sure how to do it...

i think those are the fence foundations they just rised them up to the highest extent. Try useing a foundation then try to put the fence foundation of top

Yeah, tried placing a regular metal foundation down, then tried placing the fence foundation but nothing.

If there was a way to lift them, so to speak, it wouldn't be too bad. As it is, there's no way to lift, or drop them where you want.

Still looking for anyone that can shed some advice on how to achieve those handrails! :)

Sad days :(

I've just figured out how to do this. It's a lot of work, but it works. MAIL919 has the right idea. You have to keep stacking the fence foundations up, then delete the ones underneath the top one. I will be posting a guide on how to do this once I get it written up.

Thanks, I suppose that'll work but holy hell is that a lot of work to get it that way and lots of materials to just build something up to destroy.... Probably a bug or oversight I would suppose, so hopefully the devs introduce at least handrails or something of the sort.

I encountered the same problem and can't solve it looks Like we'll have to knock the developers, so they corrected this bug or added a separate "Railings"

Here's the workaround guide if any of you would like to have a look. http://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/0/594820656460178017/

place any kind of foundation, even thatch, snap the fence to the side then destroy the foundation. If you insist on doing it by stacking fences then destroying it, might i suggest stacking cheap fence foundations then put the one you want at the top, no need for all the fences to cost you tons of resources.

LOLS way to bring up a 7 month old post...

Yeah this was before they introduced the rails. That was the only way to have the guard rails back then.
