The bump mapping is a bit high on the reflective side in the game huh? I was once blinded by the shine coming off a trike's back. The dirt has looked like a chrome future landscape at times too when the sun hits it right and makes it all pure glowing silver.

Perhaps we could have an in-game, in-options 'bloom slider'.

JJ Abrams had a hand in this game

What are the current bloomquality and lightshafts set at in case I want to put it back?

Good question. I'd like to know too. I think where gamma is concerned the value is around 2.37 but I wouldn't like to guess at light shafts and/or bloom.

im not 100% sure what the default values are, i got these commands off of a reddit post earlier this morning, no mention of default values

That link says it goes from 0-5 so default cant be too hard to find.

r.bloomquality default value: 5 - use 1 if you still want a little bloom.
r.lightshafts is an on/off switch so use 1 or 0.

Pretty sure it says it defaults at 5 in the link somewhere.

I used the bloomquality 0 setting here in single play just now.

Thanks for the tip as it now fixes a huge problem I have with graphics in the game
and the insanely stupid bloom / glare levels.

THANKYOU.

Oh, first time I tried it did not work.
I failed to note the period between r.console and mistook the period for a space. hah.
So if others fail, note the period . it matters.

Why, as of this date they have not included a bloom switch in options is a bit baffeling.
It is one of the biggest complaints on graphics in the game remaining. Such a stupid easy fix.

There are options in the ini files, however the client doesn't respect them, or read them, I'm not sure. You have to do it via console commands.
