Taming T-rex
Anyone has any idea on the amount of narcotic/meat and how long it takes to tame a t-rex?

Tyrannosaurus:
Narcoberry: 200, (i need 400)
Narcotic: 40 - 100,
Tranquilizer Arrow: 30 - 50 (btw i need 100)
Food: Kibble (Pulminoscorpius Egg), Prime Meat, Cooked Prime Meat = Prime Meat Jerky, Raw Meat,
Time: 1(PM)/ 3 - 4

The best way to tame a safe Trex; build a tower which is larger than the Trex, climb it, and then shoot from a safe distance the Trex with Tranquilizer Arrow, the Trex is then just in front of the tower, looks at you and does not matter, So I did that

Took me and a friend 5 hours to tame a level 87. We used probably close to 120 prime, 8 kibble and 150'ish narcotics. We starved the rex, collected all the prime and stuck it in a fridge close by. Once rex was low, we fed it everything and had a little raw meat at the end as a backup. He swallowed about 5 raw meats in total.

last time my tribe tried this, it ended up with the taming effeciency dropping like mad sure it eat all the meat but the press bar didnt move more then what it would from 1 prime meat, because the effiency drops per meat.Atleast on the official servers. So i would rather then try gambling on kibbles if possible but for us the eggs have been really hard to get...so much that im not sure ill ever bother even making kibbles..theres is enough grind in the game already.

there is a calculator for it now, you need to select the kind of dino, its lvl and it will tell yuo what you need. It allows you to change values for the food using and such. Very usefull

Very useless you mean. The guy who made it hasn't changed the food values since they were changed around 2 weeks ago so the calculator is way off.

Try it yourself. A level 87 sabre tamed with pure kibble required 18 of them. The calculator reports 43 or something like that.

While I realize that starving doesn't technically gain you more time, I would like to point out that it might have a place. If you go out on a Prime Meat run and come back with say....10 prime meats....if you are taming the normal way half of those meats are going to spoil before the trex eats em. While if you have starved it he will eat em up right away. So there is something to be said for it under the right circumstances.

I've never actually used the starvation way, and thought it was silly, but I just now got back and wasted half my prime meat and thought.....huh......there might be something to it after all...
carry a preserving bin, sparkpowder, and a thatch foundation when you go on tames, then you will have no need for the starvation method.

Starving only makes it eat more of it's inventory so prime in large quantities won't spoil

Our server is on 2x taming, and I tamed a lv50 rex with 50+ prime meat (the taming gods blessed me with LOTS of prime dinos) and ~120 narcs in about 2 hours. So, basically double that for a regular 1x taming speed.

I solo tamed two rexes over the course of 8 hours. First one decided to say hi to me on a rock while hunting for one and about nearly done with the first a white rex can out so yea lol

Why the thatch fundation?

just to place down the preserving bin, you can do wood or metal or stone as well but its the most cost effective.

A level 3 took me just under two hours. (Solo)
I used
1x Trex kibble
8x Prime meats, the rest went off.
and less than 30x cooked Prime meats.

I had normal meats in there but none were used.

I used less than 100 Narcotics

Here was my results :)

You can place the bin on the ground...

We tamed one rex 60 lvl with most regular raw meat but also quite few prime meat, it took aprox 1-3h, most of our higher lvl tames have been inside 1-4 hours. Prime meat increases the time quite bit if u can get them blenty enough. What i do is build walls around my taming dino and bring few guards around him, then go scout prime meat around and hunt for it. Time goes faster when u do other things same time but try to keep good track of taming one too cause aynthing can go down anytime :)
