If someone or something kills you and your tamed dino is neutral or attack target then the dino will try to kill your attacker, even after you are dead. If they succeed they will be located wherever they killed your enemy, otherwise they will be dead... They will pursue your attacker to the ends of the Earth, so they better be prepared.
Naturally the difficult bit is that your body and your tamed dino may not be in the same location, especially if your attacker decided to run away. As you died before this movement then you have no viable clues as to where they might have gone.
Note: i know this becasue I was attacked by two raptors and was killed very fast, upon returning I found all my dilos standing around my body carrying new meat and hide... yes they do not just enact revenge, they eat the enemy.
