Any way to recall a dinosaur from the map?
So my ptero ejected me in midair after running out of stamina (I tried to land it but it ejected me about 30 metres in the air) - now, I have no way of getting back to that area as it was across the map (I was delivering fresh meat to a friend)

Now, I'm not mad I lost all my gear, but I am mad that I've not lost my flying mount somewhere on the map with no way to find it or call it back or do anything - it's basically going to stay where it is until something kills it or it dies of starvation or something.

Is there any way I can get it back? Or could some kind of recall method be introduced in which a dino that hasn't seen it's owner in a certain amount of time or if it's hungry or something then it will return home on instinct like most animals do?

I think Dinos need a "auto return home" feature. At the home base, a flag could have an option to be set as return point for all dinos in a tribe.

yup

if you disable "follow" in dino-options... dino will go away... and there's no actions to call him back

Would like to see such a feature too. Maybe that dinosaurs return home when the players gets disconnected or logs off. Just lost the most beautiful argentavis yesterday cause of computer getting stuck... When coming back, I couldn't find him anywhere anymore.

+1 Yes please, its even difficult to get him when he's only a few feet in the air lol. I wish they could trot behind you like they do in the wild as well.
I havent lost mine yet, but I know I'm going to eventually and it sucks.

A recall probably wouldn't work as the AI for dino's is terrible.

That being said they have introduced a tracker for dinos, if you aren't on a primitive server. But you need to be able to find them, so having more than 1 or even 2 fliers isn't a bad thing.

yeah but the dino may still be hovering way, way, way up in the air so it's still lost.

EDIT: I always tame atleast 2 of everything 1 male 1 female, for the mated boost, the eggs are just a bonus.

You can walk back, it will take some time, bring a spy glass, veiw the stuck in the air dino with the spy glass, and command it to follow you.

I doubt this is an intended feature. It ejects you but the final form will probably be something like slowly gliding down and landing so it can recover. Just an early access thing I am guessing.

Not necessarily, if you can get a tribe member with a flier to come to you on a flier and whistle for it to follow, he can bring it down within whistle range of you, whistle stop to it and let you whistle for it to follow.

It's a real pain when you land on a mountain and they fly off way into the distance to find a landing spot. Quite often, they choose a nice spot right next to a load of Raptors. Scratch one bird. What was wrong with the rocks right next to you? Ptero's are the worst for it.

True unless you play mostly solo like I do.

I've lost about 4 ptera, but always from the game disconnecting. Last time I d/c midflight though I was safely on the ground with my bird. Always take a parachute and put it in your hotkey ready to use. Always land (or put your stamina up, 1000 stamina makes for a p.good scout wing). All you can do is take another bird and fly around, hoping it will be floating mid air.

If you land on the edge of a cliff. Call that bird straight away before it wanders off. If it's following you set it to neutral. If you land it to chop some wood or w/e then set to passive and keep an eye on it.

I hit U as soon as I land, Argent is not so bad but the AI for a ptera mind boggling. Still, if you can find them but are out of range for whatever reason, use a spy glass.

Please. We definately need this feature. I find the biggest problem is flyers on Neutral. So easy to get them lost. When they get attacked, after it's over they tend to land on surrounding islands or stay up in the sky. Many times I have had to take a flyer out and search the surrounding areas to find them. Actually I have Pteradon named "Rescue" just for that purpose. Fnding lost dinos lol.
