Torch in left hand PLEASE

You're asking for the ability to hold your torch out in your left hand while you have a pickaxe/hatchet in your right, correct?

Yes, the ability to use pickaxe and hatchet in right hand while holding the torch in the left.
Other items one could use with the torch:

• Simple and fabricated pistol (which would give them a functionality over the rifles)
  
• Compass
  
• 1h melee weapon if they add that (maybe a machete?)

Would love cutting my way through the bushes with a torch and machete during the night.

I can agree with all of that. You can pick berries with a torch out, why not the ability to use one-handed items too. Sounds great.

Perhaps if they give the option for the character to be left or right-handed... I kinda don't want them to switch to right-handed personally now I realise he/she's a leftie! XD

Then why do they hold the torch in the right-hand and swing an axe with the left? Wouldn't a rightie do the opposite? I know I'd hold a torch and axe the way the player character does, but then again I find it easier to play guitar hero right-handed so I'm a bit weird >.>'

It works this way on purpose. Chopping or mining is a 2 handed activity. Using both would make no sense.

We can not cut wood while holding a torch. The OP confused you in this matter by not saying they want duel weild capability and would want the torch in the left hand.

Yeah if the thread said something more like 'Dual-wield capability please' then I wouldn't have derped so bad.

In which case I totally agree with this idea too! I want to run around packing dual pistols for the sake of looking cool!

Chopping and mining is a one handed activity in ARK. Your character does not use the tools as such, so it would fit perfectly unless they decided to change that.

No, chopping and mining is not a 1 handed activity in ARK. If it were, this topic requesting it to become a one handed activity would not exist......
