Any reason why rich metal deposits are only available northern side of the map ?

After recent changes it seems metal can only be mined from northern mountains.

That idea behind tiny % drop from normal rocks is a bit silly, as in order to progress any further at level 35+, 1000+ metal ingots required which is literally impossible without going to northern side.

So pretty much this is what happens now:

All caves are already camped with metal doors at entrances, so no access there and you can't blow them without access to metal (paradox?), or even more worse - OIL which is impossible to get on low levels.
After last changes all metal deposits are concentrated north side which apparently will be camped by big tribes.

How can you raide / claim the mountain territory from other tribes if they are literally sitting on most advanced resource and making them god mode, while other population have to spend weeks in misery trying farm tiny fraction of metal they can mine from standard rocks ?

It feels like some sort of segregation, southerns are primitive men who have to fight with rocks and wooden sticks, while northern are enclaves with advanced tech from the future.

The lastest patches enabled metal farming in the south end of the map. I can confirm I get a lot more metal now from river/beach and even 'normal' rocks now than before.

There's a stream that turns into a waterfall and heads south along the west of the volcano slopes. Every time I go out to check the slopes of the volcano I come back with 50+ pieces of metal, have you tried there?

I have also found a mountain where i can get about 30 metal ores from a single rock so I am good on metal even if the cave closest to my base won't spawn anything.

Pretty sure he just wants easymode. He made powergamer comments about needing to get 100+ metal ingots an hour to progress.

yes this is the biggest problem atm.
this game is really great and i looking for a long time a good survival game.
im in the southwest there are 0 montains, but even wirh the change of river rocks its not compareable with rich montain rocks areas!
this is highly not fair for players starting at areas where you are not able to reach montain!
please fix this first to make this game fair and ballanced! metal is the resource nr 1!!!!!!
or someone know metal montain in south west?? i dont... so kerp on fighting stone vs machine gun haha funny how fair this game is

look around. find a mountain. Climb the mountain. Farm the metal...

There are quite reasonable metal quantities available at the rivers in the south, and you can find the new and shiny rich metal rocks not only on the highest mountains, even the hills of the middle island (50/60) are covered with them.

i am 80/18 THERE IS NO METAL montain or cave !! if you lucky you find some metal at rivers but this is how i said such ridiculusnsmall amount compared to 1 rock 30 metal!!!! are you kidding me???? the complete higher lvl progress based ob metal . 1 bullet vosts 2 metal... haha one ammonition would me cost hours or a wall. this is ridiculous for ppl who start in this areas!!!

This. I was on the southernmost island in the middle of the map (between latitude 40-50) and there's a small hill there where I have found several rich metal deposits and gotten 50+ metal in one trip where I wasn't even LOOKING for metal.
